So what we've learned today is that what Pat did this season is pretty pedestrian. Especially when you consider the fact that he tanked last season intentionally.
A) The damage was done
B) A GM of your caliber could execute the perfect tank that doesn't look like a tank.
C) It was a joke...lighten up. Though...seems like thou dost protest too much.
Only guys to consider on my team are Big Jon Gutierrez and Mauro "Doorbell" Espanadel for new brew. Jon's hit a cold streak down the stretch but he's at 25 HR's after missing over a month with an injury.
Doorbell is one of the top closers in the IL this season. One blown save all year. Could be our next "Old Blue".
I would say consideration for Jamie Herberholz for Pale Ale. I don't expect him to win but he's deserves a look.

I think the Pale Ale battle for 3rd place could be interesting.
Personally, I think there is a clear #1 and #2. "Ironfist" even in a "down" year, is far and away the best SP in the IL. Second place would have to go to Derek Vleugel of Baltimore. But who is the third best pitcher in the IL?
Herberholz has only a quality start of 67%, walks a shit ton of guys and benefits a lot playing in The Mansion in Chicago, but he's 2nd in strikeouts, first in opponents average, first in hits per nine, 6th in ERA and innings.
Loren Washington leads the IL in wins and winning percentage at 18-3. Travis DuFour is 3rd in VORP, 1st in ERA, 4th in wins, 2nd in win %, tied for the most CGs, 3rd in WHIP, 2nd in H/9, 2nd in OPS, etc. Pete Fitz is 5th in VORP, 3rd in ERA, 3rd in OPS.
Depending on this last week, I'd probably vote DuFour but I could see a case for a few guys.

Quit calling him Big. He's 6'1 190. And his 4.9 VORP means he won't be getting a vote from me.
There are a few decent IL Rookie candidates. "Doorbell" is currently my leader but I could see Robert Goto stealing the award. Third place is probably between Oscar Lerma of Baltimore and Tony Rodriguez of Morgantown, who leads all IL Rookies in WAR.
I haven't looked a Jaime yet but if your decision comes down to Pancho and Derek for IL Pale Ale, please take a closer look and see that the race is closer than you think.
Please note that while Derek does not possess Pancho's control, he does have fewer hits allowed and considerably more K's in fewer IP.
Pancho's QS%: .724, not bad, not bad at all.
Derek QS%:.839 which was BEST IN THE BLB for all starters.
Also remember Derek does this everyday in, arguably, the worst park for a RHP.
Don't we give awards based on the season rather than the player? That's what the HOF is for. Maybe Pancho was bested this year, superior shouldn't come into play.
Remember 1993?

With that I offer Seinosuke Sakuma for IL Last Call. He came up 1 save short of tying Olivo's season save record (which came on a 121 win team) and finished with very good splits on a mediocre team.
Also, I must at least mention Migdnio Manhos. He likely isn't going to come up in "THE" discussion, but he had a very good year, finishing with 17 wins, an ERA under 3.00 and 20 quality starts. Again, might not have the numbers but we are proud to have him.
