Hey, Tommy Potter struck out 11.
Woo, and Potter wins his league's AAA POY Award. Hoping for nice things from this kid moving forward.

Washington Bats (100-49; 1st Place in Stout)

      3-0 vs. Carolina
      1-2 vs. Philly

A 4-2 week was my prediction. Philly has historically played me tough and one of the pitchers I started was just a depth guy giving regulars rest. I'll take it. And Squid, thanks for the sweep!

Best Game: A 1-0 win to start the week in which rookie OF B.J. Jobe scored the games only run in the 7th after a one out triple.
Worst Game: In a game in which my SP Seth Brewer went 1-2 at the plate with a two out RBI single and steal but also gave up four earned on eight hits and four walks, while never striking out a batter in 5.2 innings of a 6-3 loss.

      The Good
-Name to remember for next year and maybe the playoffs, SP Tom Downs! Holy shit this kid is on fire. Last year he started, struggled. This year he was in the pen and did great. I have given him five straight starts and he has got the decision and win in every game. This week, he went eight scoreless innings in that 1-0 win mentioned above. This could is almost a lock to be in the starting rotation for the playoffs and in mid-August I had him penciled in at mop-up for the post-season. Unreal.

-This team could break the franchise record for wins. 109 back in 1983 still stands. With two more wins, the 2000 team will finish top three All-Time along with the 1988 108 win team. Both the '83 and '88 Bats won the Brewmaster's.

      The Bad
-It's the final two weeks of the season and due to injuries, trades, players exceeding expectations and some falling short, I still don't have a set lineup for either RHP or LHP. I've juggled a ton of players in different spots based on match-ups as well. Now with MAM back in the mix, it's back to the drawing board.

      The Ugly
-The Bats are going to clinch their first division title since...1990. Holy shit. Decade of dominance for the Colonials.

      The Injured
Starting RF Miguel Angel Monchez returns after missing five weeks with an oblique strain. He is officially playing for his post-season job. He will get majority of the starts going forward in RF but after he went down both OF Toby Day and Jobe have emerged in his absence. With the CF spot locked up, the trio of MAM, Day and Jobe, will be fighting for two starting spot.

      The Week Ahead
-With the Bats "Magic Number" at just two, I am going to try and keep my team fresh for the rest of the year. The star SPs will only get two more starts. The hitters will get regular rest. This week I have three vs. Baltimore and then we begin the 10 game Stout Road Trip in Wilmington. The Bulldogs are playing for their playoff lives. The Bats have their last three home games. A preview of a potential first-round match-up. I expect a competitive series. Watch for fights. I'll predict: 2-1. In the Wilmington series, the Bats will be resting playings as I expect to have already clinched the division. However, the Blue Wave suck. Prediction: sweep.

I do still hate Batavia. But I am torn a bit because they helped drop my magic# to 1 by sweeping Carolina.

        Um... thanks Matt. I guess.

I guess moving people around to see if they can play other positions backfired for a 0-6!

Swept both Pittsburgh and Syracuse. Joe Rojas and Curt Dodson are swinging well. I'm optimistic about next year. I'm not losing any big players and this team should only get better- we have been really unlucky (-7 Pythagorean record) this season in many ways.

5-1 and the 1st winning sim of the season. Also we swept Carolina...our 1st sweep of the season.

Safe to say that with the addition of MR Reyes we might have one of the best bullpens in the BLB. The guy is going to make $8m next year but I'll pay half of that if someone is interested in a stud closer.
