We could have had a shot without that Rex Morgan injury. Now its clear we are the Titanic. This run in Hartford was marred by bad injuries late every season and somehow made it work. Not this time.

Big, big 5-2 week as the boys came to play against Cali and Wilmington (not so much Philly, though). IF we make the playoff Hudson gets a mf'n extension. Don Hudson in Sept: .359/.421/.672 with 5 HR and 18 RBI...at the bottom of the order. Thanks, Pat.
Back to Philly, I see you Brad. What a 2nd half of the season. Look out for the Freedom in 2001.
An 0-7 week! Without Christian in the line up we just can't score enough runs. Small objects throughout the Quad Cities area flying through the air as the suckage in Davenport increased incredibly this week.
2-0 @ Morgantown 1-1 vs. Wilmington 3-0 vs. Davenport
A 6-1 week with the one loss being a blown save. Not the toughest competition but one hell of a week for the Bats. I'm not sure a 2-game sweep really counts so, I'll just send this one Davenport's way!
Worst Game: After leading 3-0 after the first inning against Wilmington, the Bats would give up two in the 4th and then in the 9th, CL Clarence Ortiz gives up a pinch-hit three run homer and the Bats go on to lose 6-3. http://www.simgamingnetwork.com/blb/..._box_5379.html
The Good
-It's starting to not even matter who I throw out there in the rotation. Every starter this week pitched at least six innings and gave up no more than four runs. DuFour and "Chuckwagon" Sasaki didn't even give up a run in their 16 innings.
-A year after struggling with injuries and poor play, 2B Jeremiah Kelly is really coming into his own at 26. This week he tied his career high with his 82nd RBI and is on pace for a career highs across the board, including OPS at .804. He had a hit in every game this week.
The Bad
-This team still strikesout way too much. It might be our Achilles heel come playoff time. 10th out of 12 IL teams isn't very good for a contender.
The Ugly
-Ortiz blew another save. He's having a great season in terms of ERA, WHIP, Ks, Saves, Wins, etc. But his save percentage of 86.3% is a bit troublesome.
The Farm
-This week there was a ton of cuts at the BLB level. Mostly players BLB teams weren't going to bring back next year. And it typical Bats fashion, we scooped them up on minor league deals. Tynan Brown, Brad Howell, Orlando Reyes, Cristian Rivera, Chad Russell welcome to your new life as a Four-A player.
The Week Ahead
-Six of my final nine home games. Ticket prices are going up! Three vs. Carolina, Three vs. Philly. Both good teams but neither contending. Probably both teams to watch for next year. It's not quite "rest for the playoffs" mode but I will be giving a few guys some days off. I'll say prediction: 2-1 both series.
