Not that I care that much, but when I lost Abbot I get an email saying "your fan interest almost crashed" yet when I traded for a "popular" and "well known" player I got no reaction.
Is it just the goofyness of waiver trades??????? (Typically it washes. No it doesn't irate me)

SIM 20: Baltimore Bulldogs (75-48)
1-2 at MAI
2-1 at HAR
As expected, we now only have a 1-game lead over California after this week's sim. We dropped another game late, this time a 6-7 loss to Maine in 12 innings that we probably should have put away.
THE GOOD
-I love that Alex Gomez is becoming the player we expected when we traded HOF lefty, Gil O'Moore to Philadelphia. Gomez hit 9/24 with only 1 K and he's starting to display some power which is always nice to see.
-Since the All-Star break, Hector Castre has been nothing short of amazing. In seven starts since the break, Castre has gone 4-2 with a 1.39 ERA,.83 WHIP and 3 CG's (all IL best over that period). Castre has also reappeared on the Top Pitchers List with this string of top tier performance. Now it seems that the question is answered: Castre is definitely worth the 9M resign at the end of the year.
-Looks like Doug Coates is finally settling inafter signing his extension in Baltimore. Coates posted 0 ER, 6 K, 4 BB in 5.7 IP and will hopefully continue to climb back up on the Top Pitchers List and be a force down the stretch.
THE BAD
-I guess the magic that was Barney Kenner is gone. Kenner went 3/20 this week and was a big reason we weren't able to produce runs. If there is a choice that needs to made between the struggling Kenner andErnie Bornstein, who has also had a rough go all year, I'm going with the kid with more talent.
This was by far Derek Vleugel's worst outing of the season. He gave up 4 runs and mainly due to the 7 BB that he gave up. It was very uncharacteristic of his play for the season and if we can just make it to the playoffs, I have confidence in Vleugel because the kid pitches very well in big games.
NEXT UP:
-I really feel like this week is a "make or break" week for us, as we face two potential playoff opponents in Los Alamos and Virginia. All of the games are away games, so this could be the week that California passes us by. If we face the pitchers that are on the slate, I think we have every chance of pulling out a winning week. Otherwise, I'm thinking 3-3 has been where we have been hovering around for away games all year.
Prediction: 3-3.

Seems like there is a good chance there is going to be a lot of early 30's talent in free agency this year. I mean there is still a lot of time left for resigns but I don't think I've seen this much serviceable talent not signed by this point in the season before.
