    NEXT SIM: Monday

    ***

Waiver trade deadline passes on Monday. That means, if you don't waive them by Saturday at 7a, they won't have time to clear so don't bother.

In fact, logic would say if they're not waived by tonight, you won't have time to clear them and make a deal.

Well at least we finished the season with a winning record against one team...we are proudly 2-1 against Pawtucket!

Just a general question for Clay. When trades are made after the trade deadline, are they not able to show in game? I'm assuming the process is different after July 31? Doesn't matter but I was curious.

I made a lineup thinking I was at home this week. Well we were on the road needing a DH lineup. ooops! 3-3 anyway.

Still loving how Herberholtz is just cruising the last three months. His year to year progress is undeniable. Now all I have is the AA playoffs as the not so mighty Ice Vipers now have won 12 straight and move on to the next round.

                .
They just get edited onto the new teams. To use the ingame trade they have to clear in game waivers. I use to edit their news in history, but its a pain.

Washington Bats (81-42; 1st Place in Stout)

                            2-1 @ New Orleans
                            3-0 @ Mississippi

Lost a close one to New Orleans for a 5-1 week. I expected a good week but not this good. This is for you Spectre!

Best Game: Down 3-1 after four innings, the Bats rally in the 8th to take a 4-3 lead that they would hold onto to win another 1-run game.

Worst Game: Damnit. SP Loren Washington finally lost. Against one of his former teams. The real bummer is he pitched well enough to win certain games. Into the 8th inning, four earned, no walks, in a 2-4 loss to the Dukes.

                            The Good
-After the trade of SP Ivan Gutierrez, the Bats moved RP Tom Downs to the starting rotation. Earlier the year the AI started him on short rest and it wasn't a fair showing. So in his BLB "debut" as a starter, he throws a gem. 8 IP, 8 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, in a 3-2 win @ New Orleans. Great way to set the tone for the week.

-How about the new guys? 3B Chad Melson escaped from Denver and has raised his OPS almost .200 points. IF Clarence Wetton escaped from Pittsburgh and through nine games is hitting at a 1.117 OPS. Lastly, the return of IF Robert Abbott from Pawtucket, hit at a 1.053 OPS his first week here. Including a a 3/6 game, with 2 R, 2 RBI and his first homerun of the season.

-A day after I aggressively try to get SP Kel Fuckin' Murphy out of town he throws a real good game. 7.1 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 2 BB in a 3-2 win at Mississippi. He probably won't make the playoff roster but I'll probably ride with him until then.

                            The Bad
-Two injuries this sim in a very, very healthy season for the Bats. Murphy will be day-to-day for the week but the big loss was starting RF Miguel Angel Monchez who will miss five weeks and is in danger of not playing the rest of the season. He had a good year, 16 VORP, 2.2 WAR, 22 SB and Glove Wizard Defense in RF. He will be missed. In his place, the Bats will call back up top hitting prospect OF B.J. Jobe who has been up and down all year.

                            The Ugly
-I can't seem to shake Virginia. Even though I gained one game, this will go down the wire. Or maybe it will be decided in the seven games we still have against one another.

                            The Farm
-Single-A didn't make the playoffs but I really like a lot of the kids I have down there who just aren't even ready to face Single-A talent. Very raw squad. My Double-A team is in the playoffs and has a chance to make some noise. My Triple-A team will make the playoffs and is good enough to probably beat Denver, Pawtucket, Pittsburgh, Batavia and Wilmington in a three game series.

                            The Week Ahead
-Three @ California, Three @ Carolina. For the season the Bats are 6-3 vs. California, 6-0 vs. Carolina. I think it's a letdown week. I'll say 1-2 @ California and 2-1 @ Carolina, probably lose a game or two to Virginia, who has six games at home.
                            Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
                            Seattle Pilots- 2017-2041
                            Washington Bats - 1979-2013

Holy shit, what kind of juggernaut does Dallas have. Three games against them and they score 15,15, and 16. Too disgusted to look at the box scores yet to see who was responsible for the 14 errors we had in 6 games. Apparently the guys thought that since the pitchers were pitching underhanded they would wear oven mitts in the field.
