    Pawtucket 2-4.

Sorry Pitt not this season. The basement is mine!

    Minors:

Tyler Quinn finishing a strong at the end of the season. #25 now. Be interesting to see him and Zach Mitchell perform in spring training in 2001.

P Tom Vaccarella FINALLY gets it in AAA. Awesome last month 4 starts/ 3-0/ 0.86 ERA.

    Go AA Lawrence Patriots!!!!!!!!

I still have no clue if prospect Costca is a pitcher or a CF yet. He needs to give me some guidance here.

      Bittersweet Outing of the Week

      Colonials' Top Pick in 2000 (1.18 via Morgan deal) Brendan Lindsey goes 10 innings - 2 Hits - 0 R - 1 BB - 6K (119 pitches) before leaving with a no decision.

If he can stretch that Control up to a 5, he's going to be a stud.

Down the home stretch its about the most competitive Top 10 teams I've ever seen.

Seems all the contenders have decent claim to the thrown this season. No one too dominant nor is there a whacky 81 team trying to sneak in.

        Interesting.

I was just about to post something similar to this. Maybe the first time I've ever seen every division race up for grabs this late in the season.

And so balanced: division versus division. (Top records)

This is the nicest thing anyone has said about the Pilsner since the 80's.

Let's not pretend the Pilsner wasn't doing well for itself last year just because you were in last place.

Hey, that's no slight. You don't think I shake my head at how my record makes the Pilsner look bad right now?

This is almost laughable. I didn't even notice the injuries! Wow. Dusty Simmons goes down right before we face the IL for a second time this year?! Good to see my ace is gone as well. Good times.

                    Just a few days.

I was expecting to see a MASH unit when I looked at your injuries... but you only have two guys, one with a week long injury and one with a two day one. Simmons is a DTD... so you can even play his if you so choose.

Heck, one way to improve the offense would be to play Walters against RHP. .791 OPS against RHP is nothing to laugh at. Especially when he has a better RHP OPS than your DH, 1B and RF.

Nobody's said anything nice about Funclown since the 80's either so it evens out.

It not only breaks the career high he set last season, but in the past two seasons he has now thrown 7 complete games - one more than he threw from ages 21-33.

Lindsey is also on pace to throw his second consecutive 200 inning campaign. He only threw 200 innings once prior to last season.
I used to keep him on a pitch count. As the season would wear on, his ERA would go up. Also, as he got older, I always worried he would get injured. The 6 man rotation affected his IP as well. I'm not surprised his pitching this well. He's always been a gamer. I'm just surprised with his load he isn't hurt at all.

I've decided to jump on a new pitching program. Pitch them till they die.

Risky, but I've convinced myself that if they are gonna get hurt, they will get hurt. I babied Cook and Jeremiah Gray and they ended up being absolute wrecks despite healthy reports. Arms are gonna fall off if they fall off.

I was concerned with Lindsey's previous arm injuries, but I knew last year that if I wanted to compete, I needed him to throw pitches.

He's a phenomenal pitcher. Really great arm. Probably my favorite pitcher in this league. I wish I could have had Jose Guzman catching his fly balls. My dream would have been complete.
