    NEXT SIM: Friday

    ***

Friday is the trade deadline. All trades on Friday must be PRE-SIM to meet deadline.

    When making trades remember...
    * You must have room on your 40 man for any BLB Contract you're taking in. No room, no trade.
    * Pre-SIM instructions should be very clear. Please no "just put him wherever".
    * Do your part. Don't ask me to set the whole lineup up. Just leave spots for the new guys.
    * When trading minor leaguers, please list their name, position and level. Just makes my life easier and prevents mistakes.

    Thank you... Drive thru...

    Pawtucket 4-3. Hmmm.

Rookie pitcher Ruben Aparicio has been a mild surprise this season. The kid walks a shit pile of players, yet he's 5-2 in 10 starts with a 3.36 era?? Another rookie SS Orlando Saucedo is starting to hold his own. If anything
Saucedo should hold a job as a back of the lineup/ defensive glue IF for us.

I'm trying to stay patient with former rule V pick Zachary Mitchell even if he's just gone crazy in AAA this season. Only 23 and hitting .350 ave/ .410obp/ .903 ops. Could be wishful thinking, but it seems his eye has improved.

Took a drop in the OSA top 100, but thats just cuz I needed to get Costca a look at CF and see where he's at. His home position will be SP next sim. Something to keep me busy while we retool.

Carolina goes 5-2 thanks to Los Alamos and Batavia. Should have put Reyes on the block earlier as he pitched well. also had a 19 inning thriller in the last game of the sim.

I'm not sure I got the right league file. Can someone double check for me? In my version we swept WAS in a 3 game series, but that doesn't seem right from what I've read around here recently. #eatitbats

4-3 including 3 of 4 over Dallas but two 12 inning losses keep us from making up any ground.

Three more key injuries over the last two sims- well, two at least, with Shawn Mills going down for 2-3 months and now 2B Antonio Torres going down with diagnosis pending. 3 of our top 5 starters are down for the count this season and it's going to catch up with us.

Be cool... it took me six RE-SIM's to get that result. Thanks for the PayPal.

thought the gold bar I sent him would get me better than a 5-2 sim though.

I have to make them somewhat believable.

you have to make a video game of fictitious people believable?

I've now got three starting outfielders out and all were injured on defensive plays. If the playoffs started today, we'd be on th outside looking in.

                          Awesome.

                            3-4 week. Shame on Indianapolis.

This Cesare kid is doing pretty good as a catcher. Waiting for his eventual fall to mediocrity.

We did lose Roche Larivee to a torn bicep. Luckily, it's of the 2-month variety, but still a bit worrisome. I'm comforted by his performing well at the AAA level. Probably gonna have that entire AAA rotation called up for 2001.

Jerrod Porter is doing a fine job in AAA. Definitely gonna give him a ST look to see if he's ready to handle the BLB job in 2001. It feels like I drafted him ages ago in hopes he could become the future Scot Borkholder.

Our 2000 Supplemental Round Pick Jimmy Sciortino continues to wow in A ball. Through 8 starts, he's 4-1 with a 1.48 ERA and a 8.73 K/9. Would be nice to see the former Sun Devil develop in the coming seasons along with Benge and Gaxiola.

4-3 week this week. But more importantly we're seeing the first signs from the young guys.

Jamie Herberholz is pitching lights out since his very slow start in April. After posting a 1.70 ERA in June and capturing Pitcher of the Month he's followed it up with a stellar 1.89 ERA in July. Unfortunately since his team sucks he only went 1-2. Jamie is on pace to finish with 190+ K's for the year and is showing marked improvement every year so far. We're still excited about his future.

Big Jon Gutierrez has bounced back from his 6 week injury and has hit 13 HR's in the last two months. Our goal was 20 HR's for him this year, so far even with the injury he's at 15 so that target is well within reach.

SS Cy Gray is hitting .318 since coming over from Baltimore. The change to face righties every day seems at this point at least to be changing his attitude.

Another suprise has been the play of CF Antonio Cintron. He hit .298 in June and .325 in July. This after a .148 April has gotten him up to .260 overall. Cintron at 26 is only holding down the fort for JJ Caplan's arrival in a few years but if he can play well will definitely give us great depth in the OF as he also has an excellent glove.

On the bad side of the ledger Ming Er has the dreaded "diagnosis pending" so we're hoping he's not down too long.

As always we're just looking for progress for the near future and not focusing much on wins and losses now. Still surprised we're actually playing this well.
