I try to not let that fact impact my fondness for your city.

Downtown (Northside near like State and Ohio). Kids are on Mid-Winter Break. They've never been. Wife and I haven't been together in like 10 years (we've both been multiple times with friends or on business). Just a quick three day. Bop around. Got family in Wheaton who may come into the city for a meal. Maybe do the Shedd on Monday.

            Any insider recommendations?

I can't believe Yo Toi has 40 RBI on this dreadful offensive team. That's an accomplishment when you have no run to drive in.

Party at Funclowns? I live 20 minutes from Wheaton.

Well we're .500 at the break which smashes expectations. I like the fight that these guys are showing, hopefully that will rub off on the new kids as they filter in over the next few years and we actually have some talent. .500 would exceed my wildest dreams for this team.

Washington Bats (55-27; 1st Place in Stout)

                  3-0 vs. Windy City
                  2-1 vs. California

A 5-1 sim is nice. But, Virginia went 5-1 as well. Best two teams in baseball? Maybe. The Bats are playing really good baseball lately. First in the IL in almost every single pitching category. The offense is a bit flawed. Strikes out too much and doesn't have a lot of power. Could probably use an offensive spark via trade....Oh, Jistic, here ya go:

Best Game: Up 3-1, top of the 9th, CL Clarence Ortiz overcame a walk and a single to his first two batters faced, and a fielding error in the inning to only give up one run, getting his 27th save of the season.

Worst Game: Last game of the week, the Bats lose 3-4 to the Kodiaks. SP Ivan Gutierrez left with a finger blister after the second inning. The bullpen played well, but freshly acquired MR Phil McSwain gave up two runs in the eight and the Bats 12 game winning streak snapped.

                  The Good
-After receiving his first ever All-Star nod, SS Shawn Nolan went 9/19 this week to raise his season OPS to .769. Not astronomical, but his career high is .729 and .683 career. He also has 40 RBI at the break. This is a guy who had 48 RBI last year in 124 games.

-Some GMs believe you hit the same no matter what your teammates look like. I'm not one of those GMs. Out of Denver's losing situation, being over-matched hitting in the three-hole, 3B Chad Melson has an .858 OPS in his first ten games with the Bats. In a 4-1 win over Windy City, Melson went 1/3 with a two-run homer. The very next game, another 4-1 win over Windy City, Melson went 1/3 with a two RBI double.

-SP Loren Washington is still undefeated. 10-0 at the All-Star break. This week, in one of those 4-1 wins over WC, he went 6.2, no runs, 3 hits, 2 walks, 5 strikeouts. He also has a 2.26 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. This is a guy that before the season was a career 70-71, 4.50 ERA and 1.45 WHIP. Not bad for a $3,000,000 Free-Agent signing.

                  The Bad
-Went 5-1 this week but the offense isn't where it needs to be. Five starters hit at .500 OPS or less.

                  The Ugly
-Two injuries! Ironically, both are a week long, and it's the All-Star break.

                  The Farm
-With the 2nd pick in Round Five, the Bats selected 1B/OF Pat Thompson. My scout thinks he has no BLB future. Only played two years in the Cape League, where he had a negative VORP. But somehow, after the first two weeks in Single-A, he's mashing. Now at .388 with a .971 OPS. Later round gem?

                  The Week Ahead
-All-Star Break! Worst sim of the year! But, this team needs a break. Two injured players, Ivan Gutierrez and Jeremiah Kelly, especially. Luckily, Kelly will miss only a game or two....A good time for another trade or two. After the break the Bats face the Muckdogs and the Bandits, road week. Prediction:3-0 over Batavia, 1-2 against the pesky Bandits.

Too bad, you'd be an excellent candidate for FUNclown Year of the UNcoach Award...or FUNYUN. It's given every 5-10 years randomly to the coach who takes over an exceedingly talented team with a great farm system and runs it into the ground. Been playing a lot of words with friends.

You can bring some excitement to the club meetings in the chat room every month. Now it's just Funclown typing to himself.
