Sorry about that. I didn't even think to check that.

Although I think Asshat of the Season is a bit harsh looking back at some of the other discretions... But I'll wear the badge.

We're still in this thing even after back to back one run losses. Team is playing over it's head for it's talent level. Herberholz get's his first pitcher of the month award giving us two out of three this young season and has not let up a run in three straight starts. The walks don't matter if nobody scores.

Also enjoying the unexpected contribution of Oscar Vargas at SS. My old scout always liked him but his ratings never supported his verbage. This maybe as good as he gets but we're riding him while we can.

Mauro "The Other Doorbell" Espandal has been lights out at closer. The rookie has only given up a run in ONE game all season.

Fun fact. DeWitt Pierce has given up one long ball in 111 innings. He only have up 8 last year but even for him this is impressive.

Washington Bats (50-26; 1st Place in Stout)

                    3-0 vs. Philly
                    3-0 vs. Carolina

A 6-0 sim is always nice. But there were a lot of close games this week that easily could have gone the other way. With that said, here ya go guys:

Best Game: One game after starting a two run bottom of the 9th 3-2 win with a pinch-hit walk, OF Gene Roberson split a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the 9th with a pinch-hit homerun. Man am I glad I called up that guy...

                    Worst Game: Not applicable.

                    The Good
-I'm not sure how much longer it will last but RF Miguel Angel Monchez is playing at a ridiculously high level. This week he went 11/22. After a poor April, .487 OPS, he has been red hot with a .918 May, .897 June and 1.389 so far in July. He's also stole 11 bases (caught just twice) and is playing DWI-type defense in right field.

-300! CL Clarence "Doodle" Ortiz notched his 300th save this sim, 14th on the All-Time list, 6th active. Of those with 300+, only three have a better ERA. Heading to his 5th All-Star game, three with D.C., next week.

-SP Kel "Fuckin" Murphy somehow did it again. Eight shutout innings against Carolina. Five baserunners. Seven strikeouts.

                    The Bad
-Tough to find something bad with an undefeated sim but I do get the fear that I'm overdue for a big injury. Been fortunate so far this year. I lost stud reliever Don Bolton in Spring Training for the season but besides that, just a few day-to-days here and there.

                    The Ugly
-It's just sad this week had to end. I wish I could play Carolina and Philly all the time.

                    The Farm
-SP Nick Cortes former scrap heap UDFA, just won Triple-A POTM. 5-0 with a 1.62 ERA for the month. Not bad.

                    The Week Ahead
-Three vs. Windy City. Three vs. California. The Bats are 4-2 against both teams so far this season. I think we keep this roll going into the All-Star break. Prediction:2-1 in both series.

2-4 And probably the worst sim of the season. This team needs a few adjustments if it's going to make the playoffs.
