      Pawtucket 2-4.........we suck.

Guess it was nice to take Baltimore 2 of 3 on they're home court.

Added two prospects this sim with the 6 who stayed on. Not world beaters judging by the initial ranking, but see upside with both of them. "Mule" will get 3 or 4 games a week at CF and see how it goes.

      On the farm...

AAA- Well we can't pitch worth a dam, but BOY CAN WE HIT! Last year's rule V pick Zachary Mitchell is tearing it up right now .352 ave/ .416 ob / .895 ops. Not sure what it means. Only 23 and scout shows his contact has improved, but whats most encouraging is he's starting to take walks.

Ito, Aviles & Quinn all batting over .300. Quinn might be ready sooner than later.

Does seem I could replace my BLB starters with the guys in AAA and we might actually bat better.

4-2. Probably should have been 5-1, but our Danny Rodiquez (CL) was doing his best Mr. Hyde impression giving up a 2-run blast in the top of the 9th of a 5-4 game. We lose 6-5 and give the series to Pawtucket. Other than that, not complaining since were able to extend the lead over California by 2 more games.

With the ASG and the official mid-point of the minor league season having passed, we are making some strong promotions.

Roch Larivee, Jermaine Taylor and Edwin Parra will join AAA All Stars Tommy Potter and Zack Mueller in the AAA rotation.

This will leave the first place Oklahoma (AA) Bulls very weak in the rotation, but we're hoping the first place offense picks up the slack and takes this team all the way.

I'll take our AAA rotation up against anyone's. Too bad AAA success doesn't equal BLB success.

Moved a lot of our top prospects up another level. We are a season and a half away from hopefully seeing some of the fruits of our patience.

I mean when Morgan first left Davenport. Carlos just had to trump my offer with his future.

Jake should have traded him to me in the early 90s like I begged him to.

Washington Bats (42-22; 1st Place in Stout)

                                3-0 vs. Los Lunas
                                1-2 vs. Los Angeles

Best Game: Down 7-1 after the 6th inning, Bats score five in the 7th and one in the 9th to force extra innings. The Bats then rally back from one run deficit's in the 11th and 16th innings, eventually winning with a walk-off home run by Mal Brady. The Bats used the entire pen and eventually decided to throw Troy Hanback, despite the fact he was supposed to start the very next game.

Worst Game: Like mentioned above, two days after the weeks best game, Hanback pitches again and gets rocked. Of course, this is the game that Derrek Tucker returns to town. Bats would eventually lose 8-2. Just a bad day all around.

                                Here ya go Gyro!

                                The Good
-Down 2-0 in the series against the Dinos, SP Loren Washington pitched a much-needed gem. 8 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K in a 6-1 win. He is now 9-0, 2.56 ERA, 1.10 WHIP. His career highs are 13 W, 3.73 ERA, 1.29 WHIP. I knew he would be a good addition but I didn't expect this much success.

-Finally! SP Ivan Gutirrez found out the season had started! A week after recording just one out against Virginia, Gutz gave up one hit (HR) over eight innings in a 4-1 win over the Javelinas. Sign of things to come?

                                The Bad
-3B/SS Yong-koo Lim was just 5/24 this week and likely will now have competition for ABs with the addition of 3B Chad Melson from Denver. Lim now has 64 hits on the season, only one an XBH.

                                The Ugly
-I may have jumped the gun on the promotions of B.J. Jobe and Tyler McLouth. Neither hit well this week, lowering their season OPS to .643 and .544, respectively. I have other options at Triple-A who don't have quite high of ceilings but might produce better in the short term.

                                The Farm
-Draft picks! 1.9 OF Manny Reyes debuts #45, 1.12 SP Terry Bornemann #48 and 2.6 SP Zachary Lewis #88. 3.9 SP Todd Baker and 2.20 CL Shane Ward make the organization top 20 at #14 and #20. With the next three draft choices, D.C. selected all infielders, who will start right away at Single-A. Lots of call-ups and cuts! I love this sim!

                                The Week Ahead
-Three @ Davenport. Three @ Baltimore. Davenport has been struggling and the Bats won the first series of the season 2-1. The Bats have played better on the road this year and I see no difference with this match-up, prediction: 2-1. However, Baltimore has been playing really well and the Bats lost the first series 1-2. I like the way my team plays in Baltimore's park, prediction: 2-1.
