Throws 101. Look at those strikeout numbers in college. Is there a pitcher that has that resume in anyone's system?
And then the arm problems. Makes me wonder if he throws too hard for his own good. I dont know if OOTP looks at those things, but it's fun to say.Denver Bulls

I have no opinions, though guess I've seen a few go down over the years.

Rough sim for the Millers...
Lost rookie SP Bernard Purglove who had been our best starter up to this point (3.02 ERA) for 3-4 months.
Also lost OF Hugh Brown (.267/.346/.489) for 2-3 months. I know we are not ready to compete but we wanted to be respectable.
And OF Loren Wallace for a week. He sure likes playing for us though (.324/.359/.434)
Good thing we decided to bring back SP Nate Taylor, Nate, Nate Taylor for his swan song. My starters are real thin right now so hopefully he can recapture some magic he found with us a few years back.Last edited by mwetts; 01-30-2013, 06:06 PM.

A lot of you guys do this. This singing of songs in text.
You know I have no melody right? I'm just reading it like words and doing it an injustice.
Actually, keep doing it. I like disrespecting everyone's words.

4-2 including 2/3 from the champs.
We're a damn hard team to beat at home and a bunch of pansies on the road. We look pretty good right now, but I'm pretty sure things will even out once we start to go on the road more.

SIM 5: Baltimore Bulldogs (30-14)
2-1 vs VIR
2-1 vs DAV
Here is a real recap for the week. I called a 4-2 week and things happened pretty much how I expected, although I didn't think we would win the game that Pancho pitched in.
THE GOOD
-The rookie infielder, Oscar Lerma, fit right into the lineup going 4/8 with 3 BB's and just 2K's. I'm not sure where he'll fit into the lineup, but to see a bat swing with that kind of consistency even with such a small size is very promising. The kid can definitely hit and will probably steal a few starts from both Don Hudson (1B) and Colin Reed (2B) despite his questionable fielding skills.
-I keep waiting for Wade Coates (SP) to fall back down to earth. In his last 4 starts, the kid has only given up 3 ER in 33 IP (including IP as a reliever). There were flashes of brilliance during his 1998 campaign, but the injury to his elbow in 1999 had me lose faith he could continue to get better. It looks like I was dead wrong.
-Alex Gomez has a right to feel at least a little slighted that he didn't win IL POW last week. The outfielder batted over .500 for the week going 12/23 with 3 doubles, 3 RBI and just 2 strikeouts. He's been excellent at the top of the lineup and looks to post a .300+ AVG for the 3rd straight year.
THE BAD
-I've had enough of Don Newman and Lonnie Fowler's poor performances in the pen and both guys will be on a bus to Annapolis (AAA) this week. We gave up 14 runs to Virginia this past series.
12 of those 14 came in one game.
10 of those 12 came in two innings.
7 of those 10 were given up by these two knuckleheads.
Newman has given up the 4th most ER on the team despite having the 8th most IP for the team this season. It kills me that I have to demote either of these guys because they both have been great for us over the last couple of years. However, the numbers point to these guys being consistent weak links to our bullpen so it about time to give a couple other guys a chance to make a mark. Tanner Bangle (SP/MR) and rookie call-up, Danny Ybarra will replace the two veterans in the pen.
ON THE FARM
-Robbie Williams has a couple of good starts after being shocked by the talent at the AAA level. We'll keep an eye on him and his progression at this level.
NEXT UP:
-The season "feels" like its in full swing and it will likely feel even more so after 3 games in the Windy City followed by a huge 4-game home stand against California on tap for next week.
