I'd be happy with a Game 1 starter.

To be fair to my pitching staff though, they pitched pretty well in the playoffs last year. We had no offense.

I guess that's just more evidence.

Okay, I traded them away. But still.

Former 8th rd pick, Ivan Guiterrez (WAS) is on the top pitchers list.

With Sasaki does Washington sneak into the playoffs again?

I know it's always been a pitching dominant league... but I felt like the 90's had a lot more good hitters and hitting prospects than we do now. There are very few young hitters or prospects that I'm excited about. Dead ball era is coming.
Makes sense. I did some draft history and there were some bombers in the 80's draft while you see maybe 6-8 pitchers per draft. Mid 90's you see the shift to 4-5 possible aces and two rounds worth of decent pitchers per draft with some of the them becoming dam good. Also, in the 90's alot more hitters drafted high aren't panning out or just became "servicable"

The game could just be over adjusting to the hitting or maybe version changes???(OOTP 11 & OOTP 12)????

Another interesting tidbit: 14/20 and 12/20 of the Top Hitters/Pitchers (respectively) are in the IL.

              Just stating facts.

                Maybe.

I wonder if there's something to the way they're being "raised" also. Are people as willing to slow play a hitter as they are a pitcher? Do hitters more easily put up decent minor league numbers and get brought up too soon?

I guess with the extra cash saved from not being able to sign Kinsey for the second straight year, I can actually have a scouting budget this year.

And I have Jake to thank for snatching him from me in FA3.

                    Thanks Jake!!!!

If anything I think pitchers are brought up REALLY fast on some teams. Most won't bring a hitter up with a 4-5-4-5-2, but a POT of 6-6-6-7-4. If you bring a hitter up early most seem polished.

Right now some hitters on our top prospect 100 list just aren't very good whether are we cook them or not. Past 3-4 years we seem to get alot of 4-5-6-5-4 guys.

Contact appears to be a big issue right now with this generation.

You're welcome. In Syracuse we can have our Kinsey and eat our 10 million dollar scouting budget too.

I think for the superstar with advanced ratings you are correct. With marginal guys, incorrect.

I'm having trouble with some of the extension requests of our young players. Even with the biggest budget in the league, I don't think I'm going to be able to keep everyone.

There's a cycle to struggling. You eventually get good... but the window doesn't last forever. And, even the largest budgets will eventually get priced out of their own guys. Then you've got let guys walk for no comp (see Pirro Hidalgo).
