Jimmy, I don't understand why you wouldn't just hire the best guy for the cheapest you can and just have him as an extra opinion if you ever needed it.
Seems weird to purposely avoid hiring a scout.

edit: Having said the above. I agree that stats mean more than ratings. Always felt that way. So if you're convinced it makes no sense to have a scout, just hire a bum for a very low price and don't pay for scouting. The rules are in place that we have to hire a full staff. There are no rules on how paid or how good that staff has to be.
Do we have rules that require us to have a scout? If this will have some severe ramifications on my organization (or have me removed as GM) then obviously I will. But I see no reason to give even a penny to a person who is not being used or whose opinions are not even close to reality.

Hey, let him do what he wants.

Yes, by rule, you're supposed to employ all positions. But you're welcome to hire a crappy scout for very little.
He heard Funclown was the only one making an offer.
Sorry, your seeing a pretty quiet and tame funclown right now. Speaking of, got some cool OSA bumps for some prospects and Lorenzo Guzman is racing up the top 100 list right now.

Hector Martinez (AA) jumped up to 83. Got a little bump on OSA projections as well. We'll see what our scout, 3X All-Star and 1986 DL Pale Ale Award Winner, Gervasio Dealba, has to say in March.
