Lombardo will be fine, you just need some patience with him. Let him cook a bit more in AAA and see how he looks by July.

He was only 23 when you brought him up. True some guys can make the jump, but he was a little "raw" still (+3 difference in control versus actual). He was wisely moved up to AA after 97, but since the move his ERA+ has not once gone past 120. He should still be a top 5 prospect and probably in 99 been in his FIRST AAA season.

But again, I cook guys slower. Just an opinion.

I think I'm good for at least two games...sheesh. Where's the Porter confidence?

I think you'll lose every game close.

I don't think I'll even come close against Carolina.

NO in 6. Indy played very well this season, but I think RJ Curtis is getting his act together so I expect him to win both his starts. Champions are always tough to bring down.

LA in 6. As much as I've picked on my Ale brothers, Hartford is on a 5 post-season streak. Not an easy accomplishment. There's enough pride on this team to take two games. Overall though, the Dino's have to many bats for the Whalers to handle.

VR in 5. Baltimore wins one, but despite some slippage by the Colonials Ironfirst & Hctor Chvez can carry a team on its back by themselves. Sadly, they play on the same team.

Car in 7. I reached on this one. Generally in the BLB, a first seeded team falls in either the DL or IL. True, Carolina has had a poor a second half, but losing your two TOP players in a playoff series cannot be good. Look for the Tob's bats to take advantage of a good, but possibly overrated bullpen. Again, its a reach.

I'll be the first to admit we got some amazing dice rolls last year before, and during, the playoffs (triple play, Ken Bayer game, etc). I think we punched above our weight class last season, but this year I feel like we might actually be legit. Which, of course, means we're almost certainly bowing out in the first round....

Shavermetrics is a snapshot of time. Doesn't apply to the end of the season (or even the middle). One of these days I'll rerun them pre-playoffs
