Man, it has SUCKED to be a pitcher in the IL over the last decade.

I'm not a big baseball guy, but has there ever been a pitcher so dominant in the MLB over such a long stretch like Pancho?

          Cy Young?

Incidentally.... Pancho is done for the season. If anyone wants to knock him off the triple crown... have at it. He'll be rested for Game 1.

I'd go Bob Feller . . if he hadn't lost 4 prime years of his career to WWII.

Maddux is an obvious comparison. He won 4 Cy Youngs... but outside of one season (96)... he had a damn impressive stretch from 92 - 00.

And down go our two best hitters for the rest of the year.

One game back though. Maybe we have enough to sneak into the playoffs. We're at home all week.

That's the only player I knew that I kind of thought was on that level.

And I only knew him because he was drafted by the Cubs and I went to Wrigley so many times as a kid to go see them.

We are 75-80. Mediocrity isn't even a level we can touch yet.

It was just so hard to pull the trigger on 20+ MM for the unproven talent. I just don't see myself doing that despite the success of California.

I guess Ill buy a dog instead.

Plus I've got a lot of talent on the roster who are all coming out of arbitration at the same time. And one guy like Fujii will be probably pay for about 2 to 4 above average guys on our roster.
