I hope it works for you... but FA is an invitation to over spend and put your team in long term financial jeopardy IMO.

And when I said I hope it works for you... I meant I hope you fail miserably as Syracuse passes you in the standings.

I'm cool with improving which I'm absolutely sure my team has done.

Don't act like a little bitch because I didn't want to give you three first round picks for Jerry Morgan and another first round pick for Hidalgo.

Last time I checked, you had to bring down your price to move Morgan.

      Cool move.

When was the last time any team in this league was truly in "financial jeopardy?"

By financial jeopardy I mean having to sit out waivers, trades, FA, and stadium mods because you're in the red for 5 seasons.

Not for pieces. I'm talking holes. If you're talking about star players, that's different. I moved picks to acquire Brown and Morgan so I do think it has worked.

If you're talking about drafting 3rd or 4tg rounders, I can find those in free agency for small prices, and for nearly as much as it costs to pay for a cost-controlled player.

Guys, I just came off several seasons of losing 85 plus games. I'm 68-68. Show me where my moves didn't work this off season.

Or should I have waited and lost another 90 games this year?

            Thanks.

I got my price for Morgan... and won my division in August.

Meanwhile, you don't have another 1st Rounder until the Clinton Administration in exchange for a .500 record.

Like me... ain't that a bitch?

Playing in the Stout? That's impressive.

Don't make me take this where you don't want it to go.

Your team is stacked. Lets not pretend trading away Morgan was gonna change that. So please, cut the bull shit about how amazing you are because you made a trade.

You traded away a piece of a staked team. How in the hell is that one player supposed to make my team win a division if I couldn't add anyone else to it?

You're sounding ridiculous right now. Jerry Morgan would put me in the driver's seat. With what roster?

                      Quit it.

My question is not whether you are better this year than the last few, but if you will be better in 2000 and beyond (more like 2001-2006) than if you would have held suit?

And... if being .500 in 1999 and 2000 will be worth it?

Carlos trading for Morgan would have been very much like the 90-loss Royals trading most of their farm system for James Shields.

                          i.e. stupid.

I think the point is to improve. That's your goal too, right?

We just have different philosophies on how to do it, the process is the same. You try to improve a little at a time if you aren't fortunate enough to land several players that explode into Top 20 talent in a couple seasons.

My team is improving. This talk about settling for mediocrity is nonsense. My team was losing 90 games. I've won about as many games as I could have prayed to win if I held suit and its just now September.

My payroll is small in future seasons and that's by design. The game is improving and competing. I'm only trying to win more games at this stage of our development. So yes, it will be worth it especially when winning will increase my budget and allow me to add those pieces I can't right now because my budget is 23rd in a 24 team league.

OK... first... let's take a step back.

                                1) Lighten up. I make the "should have traded for...." post to almost every owner under almost any situation. It's a joke.

                                2) I sincerely apologize if you were offended. It's my character here. How people run their team is their business. It's ball busting.

                                3) Please... don't ever let anything stop you from "going there".
