Pawtucket 1-5. Least Artie Stewart is putting in a noble effort.
Back in the minors:
Org #8 prospect Ito joined Saucedo in AAA this week and just like every level he's played in did well (.368/ .842slg) Even though he hasn't cracked the top 100, he just feels like a player to me. Probably destined for 3B.
Overall we feel good about our future IF with Boyce/ Saucedo/ Ito. Just won't see much power amongst this group which maybe why these kids won't see much play on the top 100.(my scout has POT contacts of 6 for all of them) Our power will probably come from our OF's. Keep an eye on former Colonial Bobby Lopez ! 22 homeruns in AA. One of many switch hitters in our system at the moment.
Speaking of top 100, we moved down to #11th this week though its less about players dropping and more about Virginia rising 15pts past Pawtucket this week. If anything the 6 kids for us have been having fine seasons with Quinn obviously grabbing most of the headlines.
Lol, Wilmington and Washington are being real stubborn about they're draft position.

Yeah, Salcedo had another huge week in A and jumped to #5 on BA. Going to be a winner. Hope I have a place for him.

I'm officially tapping out on trying to stay in the Homefield race. California is just destined to win 120 this year.
For one week, we seem to have momentarily halted our death spiral.
Von Haynes wants a huge extension and just completely fell off the top players list. Poor timing, my friend. In other top player news, RJ Curtis and his 2 wins this season have fallen to 4th among pitchers, just in front of teammate Alex Martinez. Still a good 1-2 combo, but RJ's inability to get his act together this year is disconcerting. I wish we had a bigger WC lead so we could shut him down for a bit, but alas.

I thought everyone was ignoring the defending champs playing .592 ball with 2 pitchers on the top pitchers list?

Had another season ending injury to a top prospect. Javier Gonzalez out 7 months with the dreaded Radial nerve thing. He's already had the torn labrum so this is not good news.
The good news is we're still stockpiled with arms, but as you can see you can never have too many.
