He's 42. If he doesn't retire. Pay him his 2000 salary to backup all 3 OF position and take all of your pinch hit appearances. If he comes back, you need to keep him out of the OF. He's a defensive liability right now.

I only ask because he's got a real shot at becoming the alltime H leader if he doesn't suffer a significant ratings hit and it would be a shame if he didn't get a legit chance to do so.

I think he may hang them up, we don't see a lot of hitters play to 42.

I just don't think you can play him everyday in the OF.

And I'm sure no DL team (where he should go to DH) is going to pay that contract with the risk of him falling off the cliff.

That being said, I'd roll a Goto - Hamilton - Brown OF in 2000 in a heartbeat.
There is the chance he jumped because there simply aren't very many good 3B in the league anymore.

But I agree. I'd roll with that outfield.

I guess I just don't see that big of a difference defensively between Guzman and Goto at this point. Granted, Guzman may fall off a cliff this offseason, just saying if finding a defensive alternative to Guzman is part of the discussion, then Goto is not the obvious choice.

I would if I got some money back because that's the only way I could afford him.

Well, he's played .950+ (EFF) corner OF for his career. This season he's down in the .880's. His range has dipped way below 2.00 as well (though he's had some rough years before). I just think Guzman is getting dangerously close to not qualified to play the field.

We obviously don't know what Goto would do (with the lead in the division, might merit a couple September starts), but I'd personally roll the dice on that as my gameplan for next season.

Brad's gotta heart like me. He just wants to see the old man get a chance.

It's clear Guzman belongs in Denver. Social security is just about rolling in now and Colorado has great rates.

So, I was thinking it was kind of interesting that a Kodiak player is pushing for the batting triple crown once again this season . . .and that this time he's likely to be denied by his own teammate.

Well, Linty has a such a big lead... he could potentially give Marshburn some "days off to rest" in September.

Thought I let you guys know that I just joined a new league and one of my in-division rivals happens to be the Indianapolis Clowns.

No, no. Not Ryan. I mean the actual team.

It's good to know that I can join a new league and instantly have someone to hate.

Probably a really good team. Surprised you didn't quit on the spot.

Don't be silly. They finished with 95 losses the year prior and were 30 GB.

I'm fully expecting that when I turn my new team around, the Clowns will have a bunch of top picks turning them into the division leaders.

C'mon the lead is only 17 games.
