Sorry, but makes me feel better that someone else wanted him. I hadn't even looked at the draft yet and the pickings were kind of slim. I think Ezzell has decent upside as a back of the rotation guy or a decent MRer.

            • It's 5:17 AM here in my hotel room.

              I logged in to see:

              1.) I'm on the clock.

2.) My autopick from list was in fact not turned on.

3.) I had one guy left on my list.

4.) There were 33 seconds left.

              I got my guy.

I'll fill up my list again.

Also interesting that he can play a little catcher.

                  • So while Mommy and little Genesis sleep just a few thoughts on my favorite picks of the draft so far.

Damien Serrano, PHI:Premium SS talent with a very nice ceiling. I'm not looking forward to the next 10 years in the Porter with the talent Cali has, the talent Philly is stockpiling, and the talent Batavia will have over the next 3 years.

Edgar Fajardo, JAV:I think this kid has J.J. Black potential and in my opinion, will be the best reliever in this deep reliever draft.. I was really hoping he would slip to the early 2nd, but to no avail.

Ed Kisselberg, PAW: This could be the steal of the draft. I'm sure everyone was scared off by his injury and accompanying fragility but I like him. Outside of his first game, he's been pretty solid.

                    And they are awake.

                    • Also like Zach Amaral, out of USC, selected by VA. Good potential on 4 pitches, great work ethic, near 100 mph fastball with pretty solid stats in college. I'd also look out for him to be at least serviceable if not a bit better in VA's system.

Take that as you like, Jake.

Best case 4/5 was about what I saw. Not expecting much.

I really hadn't planned on drafting any relief pitchers. But half-way through round one there were only potentially average bats available, according to my scout. So I decided to take the studliest guy I could find. I just wish top-notch relief pitching fetched more on the trade market.

They fetch more in the best market around.
