I know it's early, but it's not going well for Colm Engle in his contract year. He needs to get his situation figured out fairly quickly or it will be time for a change of scenery.
I see what you did here. You're wrong for this.

It's two weeks. Guys don't even know what runs or trends are yet to suddenly overcome them.

It's frustrating, I understand, but look on the bright side: at least you're not Denver

        Ok that cracked me up.

Pawtucket 4-2. Enough about the major leagues:

3B Yoshiyuki Ito player of week (AA). Batted .500 OPS 1.313

LF Willie Gomez player of the week (A). Batted .419 OPS 1.051

Oscar Vazquez coming back from his injury pitcher 8 inning 3 hit shut out ball in a loss???

Players I'm watching closely did well in the minors. It appears we can develop back end starts well.

Lol, people should get fined for that. Its bad enough we have to deal with 32 year olds at the single A and double AA levels, but it really can mess with ur stats if your determining the kids readyness at the next level.

6-0 week, with a sweep of Los Angeles and a sweep at the defending champs.

Unfortunately, Lucca Memmoli is out for five weeks now with a fractured rib. We'll have to improvise.

Look at Olivo and Soto shining in their new homes.

Change of scenery is real in this league.

I'd like to see him striking guys out more, but so far, so good.

I usually try to avoid tipping my hand with what I'm thinking, but I'll say this.

One of the mistakes I've made in the past is putting a weak bullpen together. That's often been the Achilles' heel of my teams.

I tried to change that this offseason. McQueen's going to help a lot, and loading up the rotation lets me put Suarez in the bullpen, where he can get guys out and extend his career.

I'm also trying to maximize the number of innings that McQueen and Ross throw, which is why I'm using Uchida as the closer. Combined, those three guys have 19 2/3 innings, allowing 1 earned run on no homers, 5 walks, and 15 strikeouts.

So far our bullpen has a 1.91 ERA this year. We're trying.

Nah, this has been happening since we went to 12. I have NO idea how we snuck into the playoffs two years ago. Last year it was Mississippi, Indy, Syracuse and Pitt that burned me. Not to mention going up against the bottom half of someone's rotation and not getting it done. Do you think it was a coincidence that Kel smashed a HR off of my "elite" closer and then goes on a tear?

Even more confusing is the lack of development overall for my organization. My budget has increased from 87M to 108M (since I took over)without ANY change in demands from the owner. In every other league I've played in this changed yearly based on previous performances and budget. LA? Nope. We have the same requirements that we had when we were a "bad" team (.500 ball).

I think the worse thing that anyone has to worry about is WHO I trade my players to. Not playing against us.

2-4 vs LA and NO. No biggie. We're 6-6. Big week for division play. Bullpen in shakey, but that's how every season starts.

                              New guys playing well too.

I wanted McQueen. I think he's the best free agent signing of this past off season. I don't ever say things like that, but I truly feel he makes a bullpen that much better.

I'm of the belief that a solid pen is very important along with that starting rotation. It's kind of chicken and egg. You want good starters so your bullpen isn't taxed, but you also need that pen to hold onto leads.

You're doing it right in that aspect.

re Olivo. He never seems to be a big strikeout guy as a starter. He's 9k/9 as a reliever, but seems to fall around 6k/9 as a starter. I think that weak third pitch is what does it.
