Missed out on Rodriguez by a couple million to Los Alamos. That's probably for the best.

        - Pleased to get Ednams. I have always liked his game and he will start all over the IF for us this season.

        - Bless your heart for signing Refund, Z.

        - I was in on Perez until the money got crazy. $9M/year for anything less than a ridiculously dominant closer is too much money for an RP, imho.

        - Fujii....yeah. Can't even really process that one yet. Good luck, Linty.

I will say.. the Fujii contract baffles me.

I get that Betts worked - but 20 owners had Betts at 88878. Fujii isn't close so there's no room for error. He's got a glowing scouting report - but if he's closer to his OSA ratings than his scouted ratings... for me, anyways... it could hurt.

I lost out on the only FA I was going after to a bottom feeding, Blow Pop sucking team. The true name to this villain has been omitted.

On a stranger note... Morris reappears on the top players list. Now you want to swing the bat? We haven't even played a game of pre-season, dude.

I brought in Pancho Perez to DH against LHP for a cool $1.5M this year.

I got Jayson McQueen for my bullpen. Considering how much some other relievers have gone for, two guaranteed years for an average salary of $3.3M makes me pretty happy.

The real coup was bringing back Nakazo Sasaki, who was demanding $18M per for five years in free agency, on a one-year $8M contract.

We can roll with a six-man rotation if we want and move Tino Suarez to the bullpen.

Eh, the last guaranteed year is $25.4M. And you said you didn't think he'd get much more than $20M/year guaranteed, if that.

Surprised nobody is talking about the impact of our huge signing. I see the top 100 list reshuffled as well. Nice to take a bump there.

We'll stay fiscally responsible while watching the show from outside. Good stuff guys.

Sasaki is an example of how you can undercut some dudes and they'll realize you were right.

6-man rotation? Get with the times. It's all about the 3-man rotation now.

So, what's the deal we discovered when you can't sign players to an extension despite having budget room?

I have budget room for 2001 and above, but my owner won't let me extend Lindsey because I don't have budget room. I'm almost positive he's looking at 2000, but the contract is for 2001 and above.

                            Thoughts, Clay? Anyone else?

Edit: Yeah, my owner is definitely looking at 2000. Saying the contract would put me way over budget. It won't. Oh, well, guess I gotta wait. I imagine he'll end up going 20-1 with a 0.59 ERA and demand $30 MM a year. Great.

Lindsey isn't in the last year of his deal. Some (most) players won't talk extension until they are. In my team history, I've only had one guy who would.
