There's no way Linty offered $27. Linty is conservative.

Umm, maybe not 27 since thats what it takes to BEAT his offer. If you look at his budget though it must be a decent penny.(projected -7 million right now versus +32mil a few sims ago) You can get a estimate based on the two players.

As for conservative he spent 18-20 mill on a Calderon at onetime and a pitcher back in the early 90's thats cost 20+ million.

      He spends.

How do you now he's only offering one guy? Nobody knows. Z is just trying to push new owners into bad offers.

He's not. We are talking Vulture also. Again, he's not bidding 27 million but I'll bet its over 20.

          Some notes :

          P Donato Guardamagni 1990- 3 years / 66million
          C Ánibal Calderón 1995- 4 year/ 78million.

Nothing wrong with any of it, just saying if Linty likes something he'll break the bank.

Z isn't doing that. If anything, he's scaring people away with that number.

The reality is it takes $27 MM to beat Cali's offer so you know the number is close.

              Exactly.

What new owners am I trying to push into spending $27M on Fujii? Squid? He already has the 4th highest payroll in the league. I doubt he can afford to drop $27M on an outfielder he doesn't need. Tom? His corner outfield is loaded with young talent already.

Fujii says he needs $27M/year to beat Linty's offer. Based on what I've seen in the past, the number players ask for is usually a little more than their best offer.

Carolina payroll is right up to his budget. Highest I've even seen it for that team. Wilmington could jump on a young starter if he wishes, but he seems pretty quiet for the moment.

Based on my single player testing, don't believe the hype. What he's saying and what he's seeing can be 30-40% apart. I'd be shocked if the leading offer is above 20.

Based on what your saying then 16-18 million maybe. Either way, still a nice chunk of change. Just don't be shocked if you see 20 million on a year or two of his contract.

Maybe if there is more bidding and you include incentives. Base guaranteed money I'd be shocked if it touched 20 based on what he was originally asking for.

                      But, I've been wrong before.

I agree with this. I don't think the number is like $25 MM. I do think it's still close and a big deal.

Either way, it's gonna take some real money to sign the guy.

So the thought is the higher the signings in free agency the more your players will want based on market value?
