Uuuggghhh! Costliest 5 - 1 sim EVER! I lost an SP (Davis) for the duration, my setup reliever (Leyva, diagnosis pending) for who knows how long, and my CF Dickerson probably for the duration. My bullpen will hopefully be OK, but I'll have to put the rookie Stolarik into the rotation for the rest of September. And there goes my chance to rest Small and Cavadas another game or two. I've decided to call up OF Cecilio Tescari from AA... WAY too early for this, but I have to take a chance.

Dave and Jimmy, you may want to go all out the next two weeks. Dammit.

Since Denver's slide into baseball oblivion, the franchise hasn't had many pitchers pitch complete games. The numbers are staggeringly low. Disgusting even. Part of it is pitchers without the stamina. Most of it is pitchers that have no business throwing on the BLB mound.

Up until July 29, Denver had zero complete games thrown this season. Two months later, they have six.

3 each from Pete Fitzgerald and Troy Clark.

Both pitchers were not on the team Opening Day (Fitz acquired via trade in July; Troy Clark promoted in July).

And since July 29, Denver is 21-28. Not at all impressive, but the .428 W% is an improvement for a team currently playing .409 baseball.

Pitchers matter. Just need more of them.
