3-3 sim and we're amazingly back to winning ways in September. Two sims ago we were the second worst team in the league. I like the signs of life and I usually look at it as a positive sign, but I'm quickly learning that I'm just not as good at tanking as others.

Limping to the finish line with another huge injury.

Whoever gets me in the first round has a great shot. But someone better step on our neck while we're down, cause by Week 2, we should be back in force (barring more BS).

4-2 week as Baltimore is the first IL team not named Virginia, to clinch the first playoff spot in years. Time to rest a few guys, which may make the Bock race very interesting for my hometown team.

Good news: Geoff will only miss 3 weeks with a torn meniscus so he should be close to being available for the playoffs. Also, Ignado Sanchez popped up on the Top Pitchers List this week.

        Life is good.

A few fun facts from playing with the Metrics.... OK... not fun.... just poking around....

            * Unless Bowers goes nuts in the last two weeks, Jerry Daly will be the only player in the BLB to steal over 50 bases this season (he sits at 59). Did you know... of the 34 times that a BLB Player has stolen 50 or more bags in a season (78-98)... 11 of those have been in a Virginia Colonials' uniform (Daly x6 - Chavez x4 - Woodbury x1).

            * Speaking of stolen bases.... the Colonials are in line to once again win the title for TEAM stolen bags... but they aren't the only Stout team that has been known to run. Did you know that in the history of the BLB (78-98) the team with the most stolen bases in the BLB has been from the Stout Division 15 out of 21 seasons.

            * Rex Knight currently leads the BLB in HRs with 36 - 5 more bombs than the best in the Domestic League. Did you know... if Knight holds on to the lead... he will be the first Import League player win the outright HR title since 1988? (NOTE: Don Castor - then with Baltimore - did TIE for the HR title in '92)

This upcoming slate of IL games should be very interesting.

                Los Alamos @ California
                Los Alamos @ Carolina
                Virginia @ Carolina
                Virginia @ Washington
                Batavia @ Washington
                Chitown@ Baltimore
                Chitown @ Davenport

Washington's schedule looks pretty good but a resting Baltimore and Davenport could shake things up. Looking forward to seeing how this shakes out.

Like the fighting spirit, but we're toast. Lost our #1 pitcher for year and our 3B as well. If we had a closer we'd be right in this thing, but it's gonna take a miracle now.

Still we only won 66 games last year, we've won 80 already this year.

Looks like Herberholtz may be the real deal too. Had a monster 2nd half after a shaky start. Pitched his best game this week.

Had to give you a hard time about it. Good job with your team.

Denver hoped for a good week (didn't expect it). But with Dallas crumbling, a 5-1 week (I know, like I said, we hoped), would have put us 7 games back with two weeks left.

Imagine crawling within 4 games back with that final series against Dallas?

But we went 1-5 (my guys are dyslexic) and instead will try to play spoiler in the final week.

Just out of curiosity... since you were trying to hard to catch Dallas... why are you completely sitting Olivo... who is ironically "HOT" right now?

                        Bustin' chops.

I'm completely sitting a lot of guys. I have my reasons.

I never realistically expected this team to catch Dallas. I also wouldn't care much because there's no way my team would win a playoff series if it somehow snuck in.

By the way, have you seen the faces on some of my guys who are unhappy/angry?

                            Victor Garcia

And doesn't Julian Rodriguez look real happy to be back in Denver - the only place he's actually pitched well outside of two years in Cali?

It's because you put him back together with his boys O'Hegarty and McQueen. Beer and chicken in the clubhouse every night.
