      Pawtucket 3-3. Eh, we suck.

The Pawtucket minors continues its rise. Up to #16 ranked now (22nd to start the season). SS Orlando Saucedo should join the minor league affliates next week will further improve our standing. Gut also tells me first rounder 2B Todd Boyce will see the top 100 at some pt. Have a couple of major power hitting OF's that need to work on contact.

Going for it, rebuilding...always something to do in this league!

2-4 week. Our season is on life support.

The highlight of the week was Yoshinaka Toguchi bombing three home runs in an 11-0 win over his former team Los Angeles.

3-3 just trying to hold on to .500

Goei is now 13-2 with a 3.11 ERA. Yet no trade interest.

Herberholtz is slowly getting better as the season progresses pitching his best game this week.

Should've traded Morris to me when you had a chance. Instead you listened to these hustlers.

Nelson Reyes (1.13 in the '96 draft) threw a perfect game at AAA, striking out 11. This season has been all about bouncing back from a 9 month injury suffered last August, so hopefully this is a sign that he's turned the corner and is ready to develop into the pitcher we thought he could be when he was drafted.

TJ Knudson no longer a prospect....officially a man. Creating late season New Brew buzz.

You have to beat the teams you're supposed to beat, so we enjoyed a 5-1 road trip against Pawtucket and Pittsburgh. The Dukes are now a BLB-best 39-22 on the road and hold a tenuous 1-game DL wild card lead.

                            4-2. We did good things.

I'm noticing a trend with my starters that can't win. No, no, it's not that they suck (though that's true too). Just a thing I'm noticing.

Maybe we'll be trading some relievers this off-season to make room for "starters" that might need to become full-time relievers.

I'm likely promoting Hodges and Eddy Hernandez next season. With Olivo, Mens, Stewart, Gonzalez and Alejandro Rodriguez already holding spots (not mentioning the fine work Julian Rodriguez is doing in the pen), that's a very crowded bullpen.

8 total with Hodges and Eddy Hernandez. Plus 3 guys in my rotation that should be in the pen. Maybe I should just throw a reliever every inning and forget about starters.

edit: Crap, and there's Mueller who I'm gonna say will be ready to take a rookie beating in 1999.

5 - 1 sim. SP Neron Rosado was able to take the whole week off, and we get an outfielder off the DL this week.

The rookie Stolarick hasn't put up any gaudy numbers, but he's held is own the last three weeks and my rotation is getting some much needed rest.

Wasn't somebody supposed to keep an eye on New Orleans and Mississippi?
