Hey, another year, another big time injury. Door wide open for Maine and Pawtucket. What else is new.

          Lost the division lead...

Lost 1998 1.5 SP Lorenzo Campos for the season with a partially torn labrum...

Went 2-4, including losing two of three to Davenport, in D.C...

But hey, Len Jenkins pitched good!

3-4, including Virginia dusting out the old 1-run broom against us.

We are now 9-20 in one run games. That means that nearly 60% of our losses have been by 1-run (EAT THAT WINDY CITY!). On the bright side, Geoff Scott and Antonio Trujillo have been AMAZING for the month of July. Earlier this week, A.T. (that's what we are calling him) went 5-5 with 2 home runs (1 grand slam and one 2-run homer). I believe that was his 3rd, multi-home run game this year. With runners in scoring position, the kid is hitting .391 with 8 home runs and 69 RBI.

            Absolutely love him.

4-3 sim, including a sweep of Hartford. Still think I have a shot this year though the Lager is crazy this season.

No kidding. Bad year to make a run in the Lager.

                      Interesting case.

Sadahura Katsura, our 2nd round pick from 1995, spent the last three years in AA. I thought it was strange that he was still struggling in AA since his ratings say he should be just about ready for The Show. I decided to see how he would fair in AAA. So far, the kid has gone 4-0 in 5 starts with a 1.06 ERA.

                      Ummmm, ok.

So I guess this was the sim for injuries... OF prospect Tamany goes down for 2 months. I suppose I can't complain; but I can't help but feel the big one is right around the corner.

Oh, and the Lager is insane.

Gosh, I just get the warm and fuzzies when a scouting report starts out with "If this kids elbow holds up...", and he's not injury prone.
