Colonial Manager Adrian Medina has not been a media or fan darling since taking over the reigns of the defending Champs at the beginning of the season. However, calls for his firing have began to echo through barbershops and street corners around Virginia. The issue... Medina's handling of Jerry Morgan during the teams' 6-0 victory over the Batavia Muckdogs on Wednesday.

Morgan had, arguably, one of the most impressive games from a Colonial starter in team history.

Not only did the 31 year old right hander bounceback from an awful start, he scattered 4 hits while striking out 7 and walking only 1. PLUS... if that weren't enough.... Morgan jumped on the 1st pitch he saw from Angelo Rodriguez in the 2nd inning and planted it DEEP the Centerfield Bleachers. A shot that would later measure 449 feet!

    So, why the controversy????

Morgan took the ball in the 9th with the six run lead and a chance for not only his first complete game of the season, but give the bullpen a much needed night off. After getting Pete Miller to fly out and punching out Hector Gonzalez swinging... Adrian Romero battled a two strike pitch (Morgan's 117th of the night) for a line drive single. That's when Medina made his way out and took the ball from Morgan to a chorus of jeers from the Virginia faithful.

Michael Walker would give up another single before K'ing the final batter of the night, but it was a visibly outraged Morgan and Medina nose-to-nose in the dugout that drew all of the attention.

    Has Medina lost the team?

Rumors has it a Players Only meeting has been called.

    Stay tuned.
    The Great One!

    To many rings to count...

At least you're .500 in them though. I haven't been .500 or better in one run games in years.

        Pawtucket 3-3.

Well, its June and like last season Raulo Guiterez is out of his spring funk. No idea why he goes thru this, but last 3 starts he has been lights out.

Bullpen still sucks except the rookie closer.

Kept our two top 100's despite the draft class entering the league. How many kids debuted anyway?

Unless we make a move or two, this feels like a .500 team right now.

It looks like 21 players from the draft class debuted in the Top 100.

4-2 sim beating the other division leaders with a pair of 1 run losses. June has been a much better month after that terrible road heavy May.

Signed Wally Yates and Ron O'Fallon to give us some injury insurance and a vet boost on 1 year deals. I like our depth at the moment and definitely our ability to get on base and spread the RBIs around throughout the line-up.

Overall, we're where we need to be for the end of June. Excited to get Brad Hayes back from rehab in the next sim or two. The starting rotation is rounding into form, and the bullpen has settled down.

Now we just need to hold off Maine and Pawtucket when they make their inevitable runs late.

Not bad for the annual "worst draft class ever"
