  • SIM #2 COMPLETE

    - FA signings went through perfectly :D
    - Any team that signed a FA must remove them from the DFA area and assign them to an active roster or they will be released, since they should only have 1 day left in DFA.
    - Spring Training records and stats must be viewed in the game
    - Make sure you check your injuries, because players did get hurt during the first 2 weeks of ST. The "Under the Knife" link is a pretty good summary.
    - The next sim will take us up to opening day
    - From now on, I'll only post when the sim is completed if there's important information regarding it. Keep an eye on the in game date and file date on the front page to see when I've updated everything.

Just a quick note, even in game to view stats you have to go into splits and select "Spring Training", they don't show up otherwise.

3-10 is not how i wanted to start spring training. Thank god we're in the Maine Guides division so we can beat up on them.

Yeah, it took me a while to actually find the Spring Training stats. Then it took me even longer to find the box scores, but I think I've located everything now.

8-5 is an acceptable start and my team is performing pretty much as I expected so far (lotta offense, passable pitching, etc). I could have done without losing our starting RF and leadoff hitter for 4 more weeks with a strained ACL though.

Looks like Kellum will be shifting to RF to give Truex a shot in CF for now....

8-5, first place! Woo-hoo! Much better than I thought for my young team. But it's only Spring Training. But still I though we'd be more like 4-11.

Looks like the pitching has been doing it so far. I will say I think my closer only 20yrs old Vernon "Old Blue" (you're my boy Blue!)Simmonds is BAD ASS.

Already almost at max potential with 98MPH velocity I think he could be one of the best, if not the best closer in the league for a LONG time. He's already near the top, and he's only 20.

Good to see the F/A signings work. I now have a minor league. And they are bad! Ready to kick this thing in gear!

10-3...definitely surprising. I'd like to see it carry over into the regular season. I've been involved in heavy discussions with Baltimore about LHP Chuck Chance, but after his strong start to ST, I may have to re-evaluate his trade value.

I have a feeling my team is going to struggle this year. My pitching wasn't very good over the first two weeks and my team has no power whatsoever. I was able to resign my closer Jon Cleary to a 3 year deal though, and for an average that is less than what he was asking for.

Perhaps I should look into negotiating contract extensions with some guys.

Yah, I think it lets you negotiate with any player in the last year of his contract. Cleary was going to be a Free Agent with enough service time this year, so I decided to lock him up before he became eligible. I think he's one of the better closers in our league, although after seeing the spring training my starters are having so far, he might not be of much use.
