    NEXT SIM: TBD

    ***

OK, here's the deal... I was totally cool with the idea of squeezing in another SIM before "Claycation" on Sunday morning. HOWEVER.... the timing brought the AMATEUR DRAFT to the end of NEXT SIM. That SIM takes me a couple hours to complete.

I don't think I'm going to get one done before I leave...

HOWEVER..... if everyone (who needs to export) can get exports in before Saturday night at 8p, I can try to squeeze it in depending on (a) when our wedding ends Saturday night or (b) when we're leaving Sunday morning.

Worst case scenario, the next SIM will be either FRIDAY NIGHT (8/24) or SATURDAY MORNING (8/25).

      Pawtucket 2-5.

Lets see if I can get this straight:

Can play Los Lunas & LA on the road and have little issues. Play Maine both road and home basically to a draw. Match up well with New Orleans, BUT when it comes to Pitt can't handle them at home and CANNOT even win one game against Hartford at home, road, underwater & outer space???

Sorry, but sometimes this game is really stupid.

Great time for me to take a break and enjoy Claycation.

After starting 15-8 in April, we're 15-20, though only a couple games out.

This team is downright frustrating. Impressive one week and then crap the next against the same teams.

Ivan Olivo has given up a total of 5 runs in his last four starts. Each being a quality start. And he has 0 wins to show for it. Disappointing.

                  The bullpen imploded. Disgusting.

                  The offense is Seattle-esque. Insulting.

I wish I could yell at them.

That week could have gone a lot worse. I'm calling that a success.

                        5 Wins - Bayer saves all 5

2 Losses - Bayer tired and can't go, Wei-ling Kim blows lead in the 9th.

                        At least we're consistant.

Bayer is a stud. The guy hasn't given up an earned run yet this season! He'll be dominant the next few years without a doubt.

I was looking over all my traded players stats today...they are are doing well. We had a great run with them and it was hard to do but times change.

Baltimore Bulldogs (34-24; 1st in Porter)
                              3-4 for the week

-Somehow we find ways to win against everyone except our division rivals. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I will not complain as long as we can hold on to first place.

                              The Good

-Our pitching is still pretty dominant despite losing 4 games this week. Derek Vleugel and Ignado Sanchez went 7 IP and 7.2 IP (respectively) giving up just 1 ER each. Also, Danny Rodriquez has finally decided that he is a closer. His .99 ERA agrees with that assessment. Overall, our team posted a respectable 3.06 ERA for the week.

-Evidently, Pat Marlin is a late starter. He's finally starting to heat up a bit, hitting .364 over the last 8 games. He also hit two bombs against Batavia, including a 2-run walkoff home run in the final game of the week.

                              The Bad
Rookie Venezuelan reliever, Tillmao Laenarts finally got his call up to the BLB a few weeks ago. Now, the promising young reliever will be having elbow reconstruction surgery, and will be out for 9-10 months. I do have depth at reliever so I'm not too worried, but it sucks to lose a guy who had showed such promise.

I have also noticed that we are 5-11 in 1-run games, which was our bread and butter last year. I need to see that % come up a bit.

                              The Minors
I really want to call Tanner Bangle up. I have no doubt that he'd be able to sit down his share of BLB batters, but I our pitching has been solid and there is no need to rush him. If anyone else goes down in the pen, the next spot is his.

                              What's Next?
Interleague play is next and we face the rebuilding Millers and the recently struggling Guides. We usually play well at home in interleague play, but you never know sometimes. I'd like 4-2 but would settle for 3-3.
