I agree with this. I believe that this is what we did last year correct?

If the FA isn't signed by the start of the draft then they weren't too hot a commodity to begin with to deserve a pick. Just my .02

The answer seems simple (to me):

IF we elect to continue awarding FA comp in game, and

IF the game grants compensation for a particular signed FA, Clay has to account for it.

No reason to worry about modifying the process with arbitrary dates. Either you have the game generated FA comp or you don't.

I don't care about this discussion.

Who needs Al Hamilton anyway? Apparently we don't, at least for a week.

Used the rehab stint for the first time ever. Yamauchi "Japanese Rob Deer" went down to AAA for 13 games -- 1.555 OPS with 7 bombs. Like the feature. Coming back up this SIM.

3-3 sim, swept philly and got swept by Batavia. Lost Hasegawa for two weeks, who has been starting at SS. Escamilla got hot this sim batting .500 with a 1.195 OPS. He has been well below his last season output so far this year.

Wait...What? Edumacate me on this "rehab stint" thingy. I've got lots and lots of injuries this season. Mostly minor leagues so far, but the season is young.

An injured player from your active roster can go from the DL to the minors without waiving or blowing an option for a rehab stint. I think they're about 20 days but I'm not sure if it's universal.

Aaaw crap! I just moved SP Don Davis from the DL to the active roster and exported a few minutes ago. A rehab stint in AAA would have been just the thing. But good to know going forward. Thanks.

                        It's 30 days for a pitcher. 20 days for a hitter.

That's the max. You can move them to the active roster before those number of days.

And it's been confirmed by Markus that players develop rust when spending a good amount of time on the DL.

                            Big Trouble in Los Lunas

This is not good. I was looking at our box scores from this last sim and I noticed that the lineups are incorrect for at least half of the games. I don't use 7-day lineups. It's not injury or fatigue substitutions. Guys are just in the wrong order. My Manager options page shows all team controls set to me (not the computer manager).

I haven't noticed this before, but I don't generally look for correct lineups. But these lineups were so screwed up I knew right away something was wrong.

                            Anyone else having this problem?

EDIT: Looks like this was happening in April (game date) too.

Washington Bats (19-13; first place in Stout)
                                4-2 sim. 2-1 vs. Batavia, 2-1 @ Philadelphia

                                The Good
The waiver claim of Hector "Blade" Pagan might go down as the best in BLB history. In his three starts for the Bats, he is 3-0, 18.1 IP, 1 ER, 18 K. Sure, he is walking almost one batter per inning but if they can't knock them in, who cares. The dude has been more than I could imagine. In his last start, he gave up two hits over 6.1 innings, in 7-4 win over Batavia.

Who knew that Don "Husk" Leonard still had this much left in the tank? Against Philly, Leonard pitched a CG, giving up just five hits, two runs while striking out five and getting twelve ground balls. He is now on pace to finish the year with a 3.25 ERA, 204.2 IP and 1.34 WHIP. Not bad for a guy that I don't think received many Free-Agent offers this year.

                                The Bad
BJ Parker was clobbering the ball but got hurt and will now miss a few weeks. As a platoon OF, Parker was hitting .326 with a 1.129 OPS. Obviously hitting above his level, this injury will probably cool off the hot start and when he returns from the DL in two weeks, it's probably back to reality for the 34-year-old.

After two straight All-Star appearances, Pat Daniels went unclaimed on waivers this past week. Pretty shitty to see a guy fall so fast after being such a crazy story to begin with. The fact that he went unclaimed by every owner in the league, shows to me that he is probably done and won't pitch at the BLB level again. Bummer, because I'm paying him $3.5.
                                The Injured (aka the Diagnosis)
Oh boy. My best starting pitcher, well besides the emergence of Pagan, has been Ivan Guiterrez. Well, he is now out four fucking months. He is fragile, so I'm not surprised but really disappointed. He was 4-0 in his five starts, with a 2.01 ERA and 1.24 WHIP. See you in September, Ivan.

                                The Draft (so far)
I mentioned a little bit about this in the thread, but I thought I would express a bit more. I'm very, very excited about how the draft has turned out for the Bats. I love Lorenzo Campos. His college stats are pretty unreal, including winning Pitcher of the Year in 1996. This year, he has had one bad start, besides that he has been lights out. My scout thinks his conservative guess is a #2 or #3 starter but I think he could be an ace. He's a lefty, which I never have and he has top notch intangibles. I did like Mueller better (the player I essentially traded to Denver to move back and stock pile) but his control left me a bit concerned. I really have no concerns about Campos. After moving up in round one, I nabbed HS OF Pat Ladd, who I had as the #1 hitter on my board. Sure, he has a long way to go and yes, he has had injuries, but I think he is the real deal. I didn't get "my guy" to fall to me in round two, but I am impressed with HS OF J.R. Lowe. My scout has him as the 16th best player in the draft and I had him as the #9 best hitter in the draft. A long way to develop, but I like his stats a lot, he has shown speed, power and defense. Oh, he too has good intangibles, for what it's worth.

                                What's Next?
Good test coming up. Three @ BLB best Carolina and then three vs. Porter leading Baltimore. Besides the Parker and Guiterrez injuries, my team is healthy and playing very well. I expect a 3-3 week, likely, but wouldn't be surprised to lose both series. I think a lot of this season, thus far, has been luck.
