I'd like to re-open the discussion on whether we should draft pick compensation, or not. It doesn't work in the game as we're used to in MLB. Major differences are:
- There are no sandwich picks, teams receive a the signing team's actual pick. (Round is dependent on the FA's class, and how many other FA's the signing team has signed)
- Teams receive compensation for players they might not even want (due to the lack of arbitration hearings for Free Agents)
Our options are:
- keep compensation as it works in the game.
- develop a system that includes sandwich picks and arbitration and do it ourselves
- scrap draft pick compensation altogether.
