I got C Wally Copeland. He was named #52 on the Top Players list with the last rescout. I don't think he is ready for the ML level but we will go through ST and see what we got.
One thing I really like about OOTP 12 are the Minor League Free Agents taking advantage of being free agents. In 11 or prior we could offer these guys Minor League deals and they'd take them. Now, they want money, even if it's only the minimum.
That changes things and I see a lot of older minor leaguers hitting free agency. It's a good thing bad thing for Pat.
Also, I'm not even mad that Hartford took McCarthy. Saves me some money. Anyone want Clint Johnston?

Might wind up saving me some money - if he doesn't pan out he gets returned. Still in the market for a better option at C. Guess we'll see what we can do in the trade market.

By rule, any player returned is released outright, full salary goes against drafting team, and player is returned to original team on minor league deal.

Win win for Denver.
Worst case it costs you money.
Oops, least we have that for a change. Hopefully he sticks. If I didn't think he would I wouldn't have taken him. He's better option than the FA's right now for salaray and skill. I think he fits in well in the back end of our line-up as a guy who can get on base and hit for some average (based on 2 years ago at least)...worth a flyer.

I agree with you. I think he's a bargain and will hit when playing enough on the right team. I think it was a smart play.

You mean this crop of free agents isn't impressing you?
Pawtucket gets a back-up 22 year old catcher. Switch hitter, not going to see alot of at bats with Rod Ironman (Former Virginia ) behind the plate.

Really like my Rule V pickup Donnie Sherman. He isn't ready but I think I can stash him in my bullpen this year. My scout has him at 6-3-7 potential as a starter. I just hope he's not too bad this year.
