With our fate in our hands, we drop 3 of 4 to 68-win Mississippi to end the season, including a 1-run loss in the final game. For the 3rd time in the last 4 seasons, New Orleans misses a playoff berth by one game. Hooray!

We've got our own share of key injuries. The Kubota and Maekawa injuries are huge. Two .400+ OBP are very hard to replace.
But all of this is irrelevant considering there is always one team that hasn't had to worry about injuries in the regular season or playoffs in nearly a decade.

I had injuries this season and have a key starter out for an unknown period. I've also had starters out in almost every playoff run except for the year I lost to Los Alamos (ironically). I'm not sure if you're taking this angle to make a loss easier to take or a win sweeter... but either way it's pretty hollow.
