Milestone... Robby Shannon gets his 2000th hit...and he has exactly 969 RBI and 969 runs...he also has 953 BB and 235 HRs. On the books next year for $10,000,000 to finish up in Morgantown. More a Hall of Great guy, but he will probably finish with 1,000 RBI, 1,000 runs, 1,000 walks and 250 HRs. Pretty impressive.

Unfortunate, but I guess that's what I get for drafting injury prone players. Bad decision making by me in those drafts comes back to bite us. Someday I'll learn.

I think Hartford can get it done in the Brewmaster's this year. We'll do our best to spoil the party (I hope); but the playoffs feel whalish to me.

After moving Deleon and Matsumoto (who, being injury risks, are now also on the trading block) to the DL, it says I can add 2 players to my playoff roster, but it won't let me add anyone. So, I guess we'll go with our 22 healthy players, though I have 26 on my active roster and I think I should be able to put someone on there.

Not like it's going to matter.

            That's why I didn't offer Mendez a contract.

You should be able to add a player that was placed on your active roster after 9/1. If there wasn't anyone, you won't be able to.

Lesson for playoff teams in the future...worth promoting extra players after 9/1 as emergency.

Yes, the only position player that appears to be eligible to be added is Cristobal Ramirez. He sucks, but he's my only apparent option. Won't let me put him on the playoff roster, though he's on my active roster and has been in my organization all season. There's a couple pitchers (Lopez and Salcido) that are the same. They got called up this past sim, so they're on my active roster, but I can't put them on the playoff roster. I don't care about them, but it'd be nice to have Ramirez as someone who can play the IF. I guess he's not eligible?

Unfortunately, they have to be on the roster before 9-1. I promoted both Barrios and O'Reilly and neither of them are available for the playoff roster.

There has to be an injury resulting in DL time during the playoffs.

It says I can replace them by a player on the active roster, if they get put on the 15-day DL "during the playoffs." I guess we're not in the playoffs yet, so I'm just out of luck. I moved them to the 60-day to see if that helped, but still can't add anyone to the playoff roster. Not sure if I had put them on the 60-day to begin with if it would matter.

Oh well, we're still in the playoffs. That's all I was hoping for this season, so I'm happy with that.

Yeah, it says playoffs begin for Monday. Then says playoffs begin again on Tues. I'll do a test later and see if anything changes on Tues.

I've had 3 injuries resulting in DL time after 9-1.

I think it has to happen during the playoffs. Not certain though.

So, in reality, calling extra people up in September wouldn't be helpful to me, since they wouldn't be eligible for the postseason anyway? Just hope your guys don't get hurt between September 1st and the playoffs?

Yeah. Usually what MLB teams will do is call up guys sporadically during August in case they end up needing them for the playoffs and then sending them down again.

Or they'll call them up a week into September so they can stay up when rosters expand and the guys they replaced come back from the DL.

It's a tricky thing and honestly I would have missed it too. It's a juggle between surrendering option years and service time for playoff eligibility.

I don't know how the game handles emergency situations like the one that allowed the Angels to add Francisco Rodriguez to the playoff roster because of an injury despite him only being on the active roster after September 1st.
