Excited about the growth of some prospects and that's about it.

      But...

-Pancho Perez, welcome back to earth... wins DL player of the week with 4 HRs.
-Colt Guinane has turned his frown upside down and is turning his season around at the same time. OPS by month: April .499, May .691, June .760, July .948, August 1.248. Guy is getting in his groove!
-Rod Phillips, acquired in the Rex Morgan trade, is crushing at AAA. .90 ERA on the season in 60.1 IP.
-CL JJ Ballos and MR H. Tanaka both popped up ready for AAA this sim after very solid AA seasons. I stay up at night thinking about my bullpen in a few years.
-SP Robby Aten had his first solid start after three months off due to injury... here's to hoping he's not losing a point or two.
      Charlotte Knights - OSFL
      Syracuse Slammers - BLB
South America - 1984 WBC Runner Up

4-2 as the young guns, Coates and Vleugel flex their muscles against the Bats. 6-0, 5-0 back to back shutouts of the Bats including a 13K performance by Vluegel. That was hella impressive.

            Good for Ken...

400th Save for Ken Bayer, Batavia Downs Davenport 11-9

Friday, August 8th, 1997: The Batavia Muckdogs really celebrated their 11-9 victory over the Davenport Brawlers at Lawrence Stadium. Not only did the Muckdogs win the game, but reliever Ken Bayer recorded his 400th-career save. The bullpen ace stopped Davenport on no runs and 1 hit in his 1 innings of work to seal the triumph.

"It's a pretty good milestone - It doesn't happen very often," Bayer said. "I was out there when my teammates needed me 400 times and I'm real proud of that."

Bayer has appeared in 794 games in his career and put together a record of 61 victories and 53 losses, 2.12 ERA and 400 saves. He has thrown 861.2 innings, struck out 1005 and walked 320.

Why did Wash sign 3 badly injured and crappy players. Whats the angle? HAL thinks you have injuries so you don't get anymore?

Sadly... doesn't work that way. Injuries are individual acts and can happen on any "roll".

That's what I was thinking. Maine is a perfect example.

I'm waving the white flag. Threw up a bunch of players on the trade waiver thread.

I just thought the "waiver trade" was just an extension of the trade deadline not a white flag signal.
