Not true though. Just need to be willng to give up something in return. I agree with Clay though pitching is alot more expensive. The Dimmik deal was just rare.

As for pitching "prospects" Its funny, most of the time your scout will slot them as "mid rotation" or "back end starter at best", but because they are "prospects" everyone assumes they own Aces. 90% of the time, doesnt pan out. The ones that say "He will be Thor someday", yeah I get not trading them.

I agree with you that you need to pay a premium for "top" pitching and I have no problem paying that price. The problem is that people routinely overvalue their middling pitchers and expect people to pay for them as if they were paying for a top pitcher. I'm not paying a premium to acquire 32-year-old Sadao Yoshino and his career 4+ ERA.

But I know you keep pushing the narrative that the reason nobody trades with you, ever, in the entire league, is that nobody but you understands the worth of your players.

if people are reading my narrative that way than I am communicating it poorly. I never have or will say that MY WAY is the RIGHT WAY. I fully recognize that everyone plays the game differently (though some are similar - I think Pat, Linty and I play similarly) and value certain players (types and actual players) differently.

I never have or will begrudge people for not making a deal with me. Its become a running gag that people have me black-balled. I don't honestly believe that. I'm sure people feel about me like I feel about Pat - if he's trading him, he must be broken.

Anyway... I say all that to say... I apologize if people think I'm telling them they're playing wrong. I don't think there is one true RIGHT way.

It's tough because I look at my team and think: if I had at least two more pitchers like Soto, I'd be competing. So why would I trade Soto when Id be going backwards.

Combine that with the simple fact that 4-5 starters are worse than league average pitchers and it becomes imperative that you have at least three frontline starters. I'm not saying aces but frontline.

Usually people trade pitching bc they have too much or can replenish in the farm. In our league there is no replenishing because the number of quality pitchers is less than in MLB.

And yes I know we aren't supposed to compare but let's face it, it's a comparison bc most of our thinking is based off what we know from the real thing.

                      6-1 sim...because you can't win them all!

The Bats are back baby! Or maybe it's just one good week...We shall see. Things are really starting to click. However, we did have a significant injury, set-up man Jerry Chase will miss the rest of the season. He is also FA at seasons end and given my organization's bullpen depth, has probably pitched his last game in DC.

If no one makes me a solid offer for Clarence Ortiz or Derrek Tucker, the Bats will try and make a Wild Card run. Both players emailed me this sim, saying they want to talk contract. This is a solid group, but I've dug such a big whole in the first half, who knows if I can catch Batavia/Baltimore.

I hate this diagnosis pending that has come with '12. Since we sim 7 days at a time when I have a diagnosis pending you have no idea if he's out for six months and you should bring someone upor if it's a two day muscle contusion and they can play by the 3rd day.

Injuries killing us since the all-star break... Loren Wallace was lost for 6 weeks, tex Watts lost for 6 weeks and O'fallon is the diagnosis pending.

It is balanced by the retroactive DL assignments though.

right but if o'fallon is done for eight weeks i need to get someone up this sim to add depth and help with the extra AB's and change my lineup around. If he is only done for 2 days I can just start someone in his place for those two days. Your held hostage by the feature cause it does not understand we sim a week at a time.

Also I don't see this rehab option... where is it located in the game.

And I think this is sim 16.
