For me, the story of the 1st Half is the coming out party of Wilmington Wildcat OF Zak Gaston. OK, sure, saying it's a coming out party for a guy who won the New Brew (93), just made his 2nd All-Star Team and already put up a 200 hit season might be a little late, but I think he's taken the leap. I've used the term "Logo 2.0" before about different guys, but Gaston may actually be him. Maybe not the "cream and clear" Colonial version of Woodbury... but he looks and feels a lot like what the Philly era Woodbury was going to look like.

I love this kid.

I would love to have him on my team.

I wish he wasn't in the Stout, but it'll be fun to watch his career.

And while Negron has been a 30 HR hitter before, he's just hitting the smack out of the ball. It's feast or famine with him. Very impressive power numbers for a guy barely above .200. Reminds me of a fellow that used to play in Maine and is collecting paychecks in the Stout.

Also Pat Dimmick probably has at least 4 illegitimate children with the number of women he must be screwing on road trips.

I was looking at the league history. It show's no triple crown winners. Sau could become the first one ever. Amazing since his contact is rated at 5.

Also Gaston is on a pretty good hitting streak, at work so not so sure how many games it is.

Well, Sau was a threat in '95 to win it too, but he got hurt. Which he tends to do even though he's Durable. So, if he gets hurt again this season, it's on you. I hope you can live with that.

He reminds me of Dave Kingman. And I haven't looked at history to confirm this, but he's got to be one of the worst players to ever to contend for a HR title. He doesn't hit for average, he doesn't walk, he has only 5 non-HR extra base hits....literally all he does is hit home runs.

he hit .270, .253, .249 in Pitt. I thought that was pretty good for a guy with a 4 contact. But yea you and i both signed him for the same reason, unreal power and can play anywhere in the IF.
