    Woodbury's legend continues!

And it's nice to have an All-Star rep that's more than a "Let's get one in for every team" guy.

Jim and I did want every team represented. Fortunately every team had at least one All-Star caliber player (by our standards, anyway). Then again, I suppose even a monkey or (insert GM name here) should be able to assemble a team with at least one All-star.

Ironically, the player who might have the biggest gripe for not being selected is Los Lunas 3B Nesty Garcia. Even more ironic is the fact that Los Lunas has three All-stars and we're having a pretty crappy season. Our mantra has always been "Team First".

BTW... Tip o' the hat to the Pittsburgh Manager for supporting his guy. That kind of leadership will get you places, young man.

Shocked to see Cahill make the team. Gracious, but shocked. Thought it would've been Rodriguez, but he can't play D to save his life.

I think he was going to war with himself for letting him go.

Speaking of Pitt....I wasn't familiar with Craig and probably wouldn't have seen him if it wasn't for the pimping...glad we got him on the team.

As far as Woodbury, we thought it would be a nice salute to a guy who has had a great career and probably won't make another AS team. If his name wasn't Woodbury, he wouldn't be on the team with all the other competition, but it was cool we were able to get him on the roster.

Leads the league in BBs. 3rd in OBP. 3rd in SBs. Respectable .862 OPS among DL OFers. I'd say you can make a case that it's more than a nod. He's playing very well right now.

He was blocked by Von Haynes here, but I always knew he'd play well if given the chance. It's just too bad I couldn't make anyone else realize it before I allowed him to leave as a FA and got nothing for an all star catcher.

Also....wow, five all stars. RJ Curtis thanks everyone for recognizing greatness, even injured greatness. It's too bad Gene Crews didn't qualify for the ballot, since he ranks 2nd in OPS behind only Sau in the entire BLB among batters with 150+ AB. Maybe next year.

I dunno about that. I inquired about Craig a time or two, but what I was offering wasn't good enough. Instead, you got another 114 AB's out of him on a 75 win team and as you mentioned, nothing in return.

Nice to see Woodbury make it. He was ICE cold to start the year and is starting to hit. In my team full of underperformers, he's one of the few who's at least trying to live up to his contract. Stunk it up in April but is hitting north of .300 in May and June with a .450 OBP.

Thanks guys for rewarding him and taking my pimping in the light that it was intended, just wanted to make sure he got a look.

I knew he had talent but I also felt he needed more AAA time. I tried to sneak him through waivers. Hartford saw what I was up to. I hate Hartford.
