  • SIM COMPLETE - 1997 - SIM 12

    NEXT SIM: Friday AM

    ***

NOTE: The following teams DID NOT cut to 25 men at Single A:
    -- Los Lunas
    -- Mississippi
    -- Washington

PLEASE check your DFAs!!!! I moved players to DFA (somewhat) randomly, only assuring that you had a (somewhat) even number of pitchers and hitters. Don't lose your new draftees by letting them sit on DFA and go into FA!

    ***

    All-Star Voting ends tonight!

    Manager's Picks due tomorrow!

That's odd. I'm 100% positive all of my rosters were down to 25, and I successfully exported twice after all cuts were made. Sorry you had to intervene.

      No export from you, Gyro.

Pawtucket 3-3. Past three weeks just getting by at .500.

        Some positive news.

Starters: After 14 months of I don't know what, Gutirrez is who I thought he was... a good pitcher. 5th straight win for him. Yoshino seems to have entered his prime (little late) having a knockout season.

Bullpen: Average at best, but the three rule V picks (Flores, Lewis, Loong) are having pretty solid seasons considering. Nice to have some young kids with a future on this team.

        Outside Pawtucket:

Looks like two divisional races are starting to form. The Ale itself is Hartfords as they appear to be playing with the division. The wildcard leaders seemed entrenched, but this race never gets really decided until Sept.

Really glad the offense showed up when we pitched so well as a team.

          1-5. Back to reality!

After a horrible June, we put a little icing on shit by taking 2/3 from Virginia AGAIN. What was most impressive was the dominant 6 2/3 IP by young hurler, Derek Vleugel in Game 2 of the series. I've been waiting for him to put it together and that looked very good. He'll remain in the pen for now of course, but we'll need more of that from him down the stretch with Batavia not missing a beat.

In other news, we lost 2/3 to Wilmington but at least we lost in front of SOMEONE as I'm pretty sure it was the biggest crowd we've seen in years in Wilson Field.

Our bats completely took the week off. Guess Baez is the straw that stirs the drink.

Not a big deal. Would just hate to see anyone lose their new draftees.

The RJ Curtis injury seems to have negatively affected our team's morale.

I would also like to add that the DL 1B voting is a joke. O'Finegan leads the entire DL in runs and hits.

That was one of a couple headscratchers to me.

I waited till this AM (post SIM) to vote, but things couldn't have change so much that some guys who are leading didn't even ping the radar for me.

Not when they see the quality pitching that will be available.
