Personally it I think depends on a lot of different factors. Having a 5 in control is the minimum for a starter in the DL. SP's tire too quickly with anything less, shortening their innings per start. You might get away with it for a few games, but it will catch up with you. Having good pitch quality and endurance might help stretch out the innings, a little. I have 2 pitchers like this, Pete Webster and Del Minor. The only time they are effective is in the bullpen.

Denver is 18-8 over the past 26 games (I chose this point because that's when I promoted Gerard and Soto to the rotation and sent Cy Gray down to AAA). We're tied for the second best record behind Hartford's 19-7 during that span.

Maybe I do remember how to play this game? Or maybe it's just June and OOTP will flip the switch come July. Right, Matt?! Yeah, he knows what I'm saying.
Considering you are 14-6 in June, I guess OOTP's calendar algorithm is a little off.

Great stats, Carlos. I tend to lean into the camp that the BLB has too many "walkers" versus too many Pitchers with control issues.

We aren't a good team on the road. We seem to be a very good team at home. We're not playing like the third best team in the league, but our record is there. 17-4 in one run games isn't sustainable.

I thought I had exported for this sim but I guess I never clicked it. It's been my least active season in a long time, but I've got some time tonight to get everything in order and hopefully will be around a bit more in the coming weeks. We're chugging along without me taking care of things for the moment.

You're dating yourself here. Never watched when Nealon was on.

It's late, but a couple thoughts on my team's play:

-Al Hamilton looks like he's finally dialed in for 1997. It was a slow start for Al, but a 1.225 OPS in June has him looking like an All-Star. In 21 games in April, he only drove in 6 runs. In the 47 games since, he's got 46 RBI.

-Jose Guzman can't possibly keep this up, but he's just been on a tear all season. He's on pace for the best season of his career, even if he does turn 40 in a couple weeks.

-Eron Deleon has emerged as one of the best hitters in the league. Hitting for average, power, drawing walks, not striking out. My scout likes him more than ever.

-Outside of those 3 (who sit at 8, 10 and 11 in the Top Hitters list), we've been inconsistent at best at the plate. If we could get some other guys going at a decent rate, we'd really score some runs.

-My pitching staff, at least in the rotation, has been really inconsistent as well. I just don't know what I'm going to get out of those guys. Losing Mendez still hurts. The bullpen has been generally solid, letting us squeak out a lot of close games.

-In the minors, Jerry Brown won Player of the Week in AA. The kid looks like a keeper. I'm not sure when he'll be ready for the BLB, but it isn't too far off. With Guzman hitting like he is, I'll have a decision to make in the offseason if "Fury" keeps his progression going. Maybe he can play CF.

-Our #1 prospect, Jonathon Burns is striking people out in AAA. He probably isn't coming up this season, but it's nice to see. For now, I'll just wait on his control to get a little better, he's still got plenty of time. Along with Marlon Huffman and the rapidly ascending Roberto Goto, it's been a nice season for the big prospects on the farm.

We're back at #1 on the Top Systems list. So, hooray for us.
