But yeah, anyone getting a 26-18 performance from a team batting Carlos Pena at leadoff and Drew Sutton at cleanup is surely some sort of evil wizard.
I love his defensive positioning. I think he's ballsy as hell. Basically takes shitty pull hitters who are hitting .210 (ala Ryan Rayburn) and stacks that side of the infield and says "prove me wrong".

Sure he's made to look better by some pretty nice gloves all over the field, but his defense is great.

Same difference. I've wanted Girardi gone since 2008.

Maddon's greatest deceit is making other managers believe the devil does not exist.

When other managers use numbers and shifts like Maddon, they fail. He continues to be successful despite the most ridiculous shifts in baseball.

At times I think he purposely uses bad shifts so that other managers can use them and get burned.

        .
Girardi is like being managed by a recipe card. He's just following the steps, but wouldn't dare just eyeball a measurement.

5-2 against our division, though Los Alamos continues to be a thorn in my side. We just struggle with those guys. Other than that, we swept Davenport and Windy City and we're still up 11 in the division.

Old man Guzman continued to carry us at the plate. He's playing as well as he ever has so far this season, making a push for one more All-Star appearance in his great career. Al Hamilton showed some pop at the plate, hopefully he'll really get going here soon.

Val Aparicio pitched another good game, going 6 shutout innings to pick up win #6. I wasn't sure about making Pancho Valentin my closer, but he's done a nice job so far, tied for the IL lead with 19 saves.

In AAA, Bananas had his best start, giving up just three hits over 7 innings. The walks need to come down, but he's not going to give up many hits with his stuff at that level. There aren't too many guys at any level who have his stuff. Jerry Brown is still hitting well in AA. Obviously I'm keeping close tabs on those 2, but don't expect to see either in the BLB this year.

It doesn't feel like we should be 38-20, but wins are wins. We aren't playing quite at that level.

Storm on a mission, rattle off 4 straight wins! Still not giving up but have Virgina upcoming and expect to be put in my place. I'm shaking up the lineup a bit for this sim and gonna see how this goes.

Yes, he was a 4 pitch pitcher. Was a weak pitch though (4 or 3)

BTW- Glad he seems to be getting it again. Funny how all my coaches are legendary, but can't seem to straighten them out. Funny game.

Our bullpen got us to the Brewmaster's last season. The same guys are digging our grave this season. Such is life. Good chance the holiday weekend will find me building a trading block and blowing up a good chunk of this team.

                            SIM 9 - Baltimore Bulldogs (37-21)

                            1-1 vs CAL
                            1-1 vs BAT
                            0-3 at PHI

We had a major power outage this week and as a result, we had a terrible week in the division. Getting swept in Philly didn't feel good at all. I'll going to chalk some of it up to fatigue, but the biggest issue was really tinkering with my lineup at the last second, when I should have just let the run continue.

The worst thing is that I know better than to do that kind of stuff.

At Least Hit Your Weight: When you glance at your stats and 10 guys hit are hitting .240 or below, you know its going to be a long week. We hit .202 as a team last week, which was 2nd to last in the IL. We only struck out 32 times, which was best in the IL but our strength is our patience at the plate and we only had a .274 OBP, which isn't going to cut it for how we like to play in Baltimore.

Lean On Me: Our losses were not the fault of Ignado Sanchez. Last week, he pitched 2 games going 1-1 with a 1.20 ERA and 10 strikeouts. In fact, he just lost a 7 inning gem, where he only gave up 3 hits and 1 ER in 7 innings. We lost that one 1-0.

                            INJURIES

Danny Morales (MR) returns this week.

                            ON THE FARM

                            Angelo Falconeri (MR)
has had an very good career in the minors and its his time to move to the BLB. So far in AAA, he's played in 29 games giving up only 8 BB.

                            NEXT UP:

We begin inter-league play this week and play two of the better teams in the DL with Hartford and Pittsburgh.
