Been thinking of starting this thread but An intense workload has killed my desire to do so like it did to my writing. I'll be back with stats and facts.

Got a little bit of free time.

Name the two teams with the greatest, Pythagorean, end of season record differential (positive and negative) along with the seasons these feats were accomplished.

Baltimore Bulldogs - BLB since '84
        - Porter Champs: '92, '93, '97, '98, '01, '03, '06, '08, '12

          Here we go.

Stat of the SIM (June 2-8, 1997)

Artie Milton of Morgantown saved 4 games this past week.

          Impressive for a few reasons:

          - 2 came against Virginia, 1 against Wilmington and another against Washington.
          - 2 of the four were one-run saves. The other 2 were two-run saves.

It's significant as well because Milton has now saved 6 straight games (in 6 straight appearances) despite having a 6.91 ERA (as of end of week) and already blowing 4 games this season (77.8 SV%)

So what does this matter in league history?

Well, Milton now has 14 saves this year and if the season ended today would have the second highest ERA for a closer with 14 or more saves (Joe Martyn, 28 saves, 7.06 ERA in 1978).

At Milton's pace, he could finish with 40+ saves and no closer with 40 or more saves has finished with an ERA higher than 4.71 (Siu-chung Sukarto, 49 saves in 1979).

Of course, one would figure Milton's ERA is sure to shrink with every save he garners.

(Unfortunately, SV% is not kept on historical records).

Hartford is one. I'm too lazy to look at the numbers 89 wins and missing the playoffs to #1 pick.

That is one. Hartford went from 89-73 in '93, to 53-109 in 1994.

They were 41 games behind the eventual division winning Pawtucket and -15 below their Pythagorean record.

So. Many. Injuries. What an awful year that turned out to actually help us in the long run. Traded pretty much that entire draft for our long lost ace Raul Gonzalez, Valencia and Knight.

Decent. However, the highest that I saw was +12 by the 1990 Batavia Muckducks. Batavia went 78-84 that year, but unfortunately the Freedom won the Porter with 97 wins that year.

Wade Coates just set the Bulldogs' single game record with 12 Ks against the Whalers this past week.

Only one pitcher in the BLB has pitched three games with 15 or more strikeouts.

                      Name this guy.
