It just dawned on me why you were sniffing around a couple SIMs ago about me moving Chavez off of SS. You want his All-Star spot. Pretty sneaky, Sis...

A subtle shoutout to my demographic of Owners. Back when the commercials that ran during Saturday Morning cartoons were cemented in your brain. Hell...back when there were Saturday morning cartoons.

Hell...the biggest one that probably blows the minds of the next generation was that it was the days when TV ended. Depending on the station. Hit a certain time at night. Star Spangled Banner. Color Bars. Boom. Snow till the next morning.

It was about that time they took the children into the TV. Thats what happened when you stayed up past your bedtime.

The interesting thing about "reality" shows is that they, in no way, depict actual reality. It's not a dissimilar phenomenon as when men are unable to cope with the fact that their actual sex lives do not mirror the porn they watch. The lines have been so blurred between what's real and what is not by so-called "reality" television and the people on these shows are suddenly heralded as stars despite having absolutely no star-like qualities or any substance at all.

I think one of the more interesting developments over the last few years, particularly in the fields of social media, is the cheapening of thoughts and feelings. I have very few people that I would call friends. But now the notion of "friendship" has been sullied by Facebook and its ilk. People have 1,000s of "friends." It used to mean something when you said you "like" something. Now people like everything indiscriminately.

Things that used to mean something no longer mean anything. It's like all notions of conviction and accountability have been removed and everything is one big melting pot of liking and friending, all of which means, ultimately, nothing. One big, gray, malaise.

Great post. I would like to ironically LIKE it.

As far as reality TV goes... there was one. The first "Real World"... after that... everyone knew what to expect and "reality" started being crafted for TV.
