So, Dimmick is showing as available for FA and all his money is in my money for FA. But I can't offer even way less than my available money. See the below screenshot. I have $16.0 available. You can see I was at $10.0 (which then shows $6.2 left for FA) and it won't let me submit the offer. Glitch? Something I'm doing wrong?

Dude, you hit ASK FOR RESPONSE.

Then he'll tell you what he thinks and he'll say:

I hate it OR I'm gonna talk it over with my family.

        Then you wait.

edit: When he says I'll think it over, it usually means they'll sign the contract. I haven't seen it go the other way yet. But, he will tell you if he hates it and give you a counter offer. Then it's a back-and-forth and you just need to monitor his mood. It will change as you negotiate. If he gets angry, you'll need to wait a while before you can talk to him again.

edit 2: A lesson I learned. If you hit "ask for response" and he likes the deal, be cautious of changing it once he likes it. He may get upset that you're suddenly lowering or even raising his contract. It doesn't matter which way it goes, guys don't like it when you suddenly change figures on them.

My advice: play around with it on a player you don't care about so you can see how it works.

So what's the point of the submit offer button then? After he responds, then you actually submit it? So it's like you're asking what they think and if the think it's good, you submit it? Seems really stupid...how is that any different than submitting it and him giving a response?

          Thanks for the help.

I think it's so people can see what a player might think of a deal before actually offering the deal and having to upset said player by pulling the offer.

Pull the offer? With the old system, you submitted the offer. If they took it, great. If not, they asked you to send another one.

I understand the "withdraw" that was there for FA, but did people ever do that with their own players for extensions? I never even thought to do that. If I made an offer to my own player, I wouldn't withdraw it.

That's what I mean. You didn't want to. But now you sort of can without angering the player immediately.

Consider that before, you made an offer and it stuck. You bid blindly.

Now you can bid/extend and gauge the player's thoughts before actually submitting.
