I don't forsee a scenario where we would ever change the scouting. That's a league reboot.

      I agree.

It's just frustrating that every year someone pushes idea that we should truncate one of the best parts of the game because there are fewer stars in the latter half of the draft.

Not asking for one. Just noticed we were all getting crazy reports this draft judging by the draft thread.

If people like the draft, I don't see why we'd entertain the notion of trimming it. If it was causing some kind of logistical problem where we were repeatedly delaying sims because the draft wasn't finished yet, then ok. But I see no good reason to truncate the draft. Those that think it's a waste of time will move to auto and forget about it and those who like the later rounds will still be able to derive enjoyment from them.

I'd love to see where anyone posted that the quality was the root of the statement and not the redundancy

More importantly. Its a discussion. Not a push. Not a proposal. Not a suggestion. Opinion. Discussion.

Right. It's a discussion, so expect there to be other opinions. You keep reiterating the fact that there is little to no value after the sixth round.

That to me, directly refers to quality not redundancy.

                • Pitt is moving to auto.

Got 2B Angelo Hernandez and he was by far the last guy I felt it was worth targeting... especially because I dont pick this round so Im 45+ picks away from picking and anyone else even remotely worth it should be gone I expect.

My scout (which he is obviously probably wrong about this) has Angelo at 6-7-3-5-5 potential. I would feel great about getting a guy with 6 contact this late but with his bad intangibles and how under developed he is I assume next rescout he will look something like 4-6-2-3-4 potential. But hey worth a flier i think.

                  • I still have 3 guys left on the list I made in the middle of round 1.

                    Feeling great about this draft.

The point is that I'm trying to have a discussion with you (and others) and you're having a discussion with a mythical person who doesn't exist. You're countering points that aren't being made.

                      • A couple of late picks I liked: Ivan Corral and Taylor Turney. Both of these guys were top 70 picks according to my scout and good work ethics. I have Turney on a short list to keep tabs on.

I was on Turney too for my pick at 4.20 (5.20 in the util). Ended up with our 4th arm instead. We're apparently going with an all P roster at A ball next season. Bring your bats boys!

                            • Well, Virginia just took one of the guys I had on my list that no one seems to be drafting (more for me!)

But, I also now hate Clay for taking that guy.

                                Um ok.

I'll just stay over here with my "magical" scouting options and "mythical" direct quotes.
