We haven't drafted a catcher in a while and we're really happy to select Danny Torres there. He switch hits, plays slightly above average defense, played well against "great" competition and he's international, which means he's likely nowhere near as good as his ratings make him appear! Really excited about this pick. Here's hoping we've completely shit the bed on both our INTL picks thus far.
Was hoping he slipped a few more spots Pawtucket.
Pretty rude if you ask me.

My scout advised me to wait post draft and pick him up on free-agency
I'm starting to see who's scouts agree with who. The is def old school BLB drafting.
The question is who agrees with their scout? I'm sure I'm not the only one, but my scouts impression is maybe 35-45% of what I look at. My "type" is always factor one for me.

It's only one factor. I wouldn't touch mines top batter with a 10 foot pole.

The first round is over. I eagerly await your analysis.
I can share specifics later if anyone cares... But, in a nutshell, I had like 12-14 guys that fell into my "Top 100 Types". These are basically the guys who, in my opinion, will be a combination of upside potential and OSA Friendly.
This was the lowest number of these types I've seen in the Feeder era.
The last guy on my list got picked at 1.23. To compare, I was still picking guys off that list at 2.24 last season.
Specifics available upon request... But still just my opinion.
Please do, I wouldn't mind hearing what you had to say. I need all the help I can get with ootp. I feel I draft and play very well in FOF but ootp still remains a mystery to me on many levels.

Hopefully when SPOT appears he sets a top 4 cause after his pick at 10 he also has picks 13 and 14 or else could be a slow day.
Shut it. We're doing fine here.

Pawtucket at 2.11 takes Willie Gomez. Still on my scouts draft board at #1.12. I like his hitting potiental so figured even if he's a lefty what the heck. Looks a little like Kel Brown when he was first drafted.
3-4 seasons from now people will either be saying "Wow, can't believe he slipped that far" or "Another 2006 second draft bust"
Get the feeling there will be no middle ground with him. Feast or famine!
