Hartford Whalers: Another team that has the talent to match VA but injuries, like in Batavia, are a huge concern.

Carolina Tobs: The Tobs went out quietly last year to an inferior team. Look for this young squad to perform better this year.

Name the 3 Best Leadoff Hitters in 1997.
1 Jerry Daly VA - hits for average and power and steals bases.

2 Gene Dixon MIS - Had a career year last season and looks to be entering his prime at 28

3 Chuck Durham HAR - always starts the season at #2, but injuries or underperformance by others at the top of the order usually makes him lead-off by July 1.

If you could build around any 3 players today who and why?

actually I have Dusty Simms as the starter. He has finally hit all his potentials according to my scout and is 5-6-6-5-4 and as an "execellent if not elite offensive player".

Maybe with the other good bats out of thge way he'll step up. OPSed 875 with 4 Hr's in ST. Small sample but given him the shot. May end up platooning him and Craig though depending on how quickly 1B Clint Barnes can adjust to the ML.

My mistake, thought Craig would start.

well he might. This is best case scenerio. Simms has never been able to do it when it counts.
