Had some real nice jumps in the prospect list too. Dani Ortiz still remains a mystery as to his high ranking but we'll get to find out this year. We did lose our best player for 5 weeks though.

In California, Ed went Bett-Shit crazy this week.

I love my Owner. Super low standards. He's telling me he expects a .500 record. I feel like if I can't do that, I deserve to be fired.

Re-upped with Jerry Daly on a far more reasonable deal than he originally wanted. Got the corp all locked up through their prime.

Daly's deal hit us for a +7 Fan Interest brining us to an Opening Day Fan Interest of 100. Season ticket waiting list is filling up.

Only one injury suffered during ST, but it's to a significant bullpen piece, Joe Sanchez. 3-4 weeks with an elbow issue. We'll cross our fingers that he doesn't suffer a setback two-step which leads to a full blown ratings meltdown.

1.) My owner expects us to make the playoffs.

2.) Geoff Scott needs Tommy John surgery for a partially torn UCL. He will miss the entire 1997 season.

3.) Pete Foster tore his quadriceps. He'll be out for five weeks.

4.) Juan Rivera will miss the first two weeks of the season with elbow inflamation.

5.) We're without three members of our starting lineup.

6.) Shoot me.

Darn. Losing Angelo Rodriguez is a big mess for me. Really takes away an important piece of my team and forces Melson to start at 3B which is not what I wanted at all.

The weak get weaker.

But, we had a solid Spring Training. There's good in that.

I know its only ST, but Eron DeLeon is ridiculous.

BTW - for Pat or anyone else having the SPs not starting issue, it was likely your 7 day. I had mine still ON the first half and my SPs were all jacked. Fixed for this SIM and everyone started on time.

Also, changed Draft Pool to 60 days, so it should generate around 4/15/97.

Any ST with no injuries is a successful ST to me.

Our defense should be better by leaps and bounds this year and we should have a better team offense. I am really looking forward to see how this year plays. I made a real attempt to get some lefties in the rotation.

I think we have just enough to challenge for the Porter this year.
