I thought though with roughly the same budgets though that we weren't looking at a huge spending increase from what we have now and things would be more even.

Should we still keep a hard cap of $110m or so then to keep it competitive?

I believe we locked ourselves into no cap until like 2000 or something like that.

If the development budget is causing people issue lets just shut the darn thing off (aka- everyone is equal) I thought the last collective bargaining dispute was based on equal media contracts and simplicity dealing with finances?

Its a 7 year CBA. In an emergency, we could talk, but its too soon to judge.

Next season should be similar to this one because Media will be the same. Some monies may open up for a few teams that can fill seats and sell merch, but I don't see a major sweep.
            The hedonism line was tongue-in-cheek.

I don't think it's causing anyone any issues. I believe Delandis was mostly speaking in jest. And turning it off won't make everyone equal. In fact, everyone is just as equal now because everyone is spending $10 MM on it. Next season, that will change when we've all had a chance to adjust it like we do for Scouting.

This seems unnecessary because budgets are now being based off success. We've already made media contracts and markets the same. The differences will now be on us which is what I thought we all agreed on.

Everyone should get a chance to adjust it this Preseason.

I think smaller market clubs should consider minimizing their PD budgets and just use the extra cash to sign FA or keep their star players. At least until they build the cash flow to pay for facilities and such.

Agree on sticking with what we voted on. As for "success" SOME of your budget is based in it. (See Washington & Baltimore budget swings) SOME of it is also based on pure profit. The rest is residual from previous budgets??

It appears Baltimore culmative budget is the highest in the league history?

Budget is season to season. Baltimore has a lot of seats and people in Bulldogs' gear (merch) sit in them.

Agreed. I'm not sure what Tom's ticket price is but I think he should consider cutting prices to bring people to the stadium. Every time I have a bad year I cut ticket prices and they come back in droves. I believe I saw Carlos with 9.99 tickets one year.

I still have them. Anything to put butts on seats. More people means more merchandise. I can use every dollar.

BTW - For people still tracking and trying to understand Fan Interest...

                            Virginia

                            90 - Start of the off-season
                            97 - (+7) Extending Pancho
                            93 - (-4) Woodbury signs in MIS

                            What does this say?

Open for interpretation... But if the Extremely Popular Top Player in the BLB leaving town after tons of awards only swings by 4.... Borderline KNOWN or POPULAR players aren't moving the needle much.
