Oh I would love to have Woodbury on my squad. Even a declining one. I think his popularity will affect attendance and merchandising enough to lessen the blow of his contract.

He'd be a great DH in Denver.

I will probably offer him something. Not gonna hide that. But I won't get into a bidding war.

I want to give Sinclair at bats. And he'd stay healthy at DH. Considering he missed nearly half the year and still tied for the team lead in home runs and had 60+ RBI, I'd be dumb to sit him.

Where would Woodbury play? I refuse to see him as an outfielder.

The most bang for the buck would be a DL team that could DH him with maybe a spot start in Left. He hit a ton in 96 after a slow start, but his defense really fell off the table. Still runs. Still hits for power. I'd take him back for one season.

I'll be offering Woodbury a contract. But I predict that it will be significantly less than, say, Syracuse is willing to offer. As Clay said, Woodbury is exactly the kind of player who always seems to end up in Syracuse.

Clay didn't say that, dipshit. Delandis did.

I'd also like to ponder, when did Syracuse ever sign a FA over the age of 34 - or - when have I ever given out an average Salary greater than 19 million?

Had to admit, I found the connection puzzling as well. Thought maybe I'd forgotten a few things.

Denver? Yeah, Denver makes sense. We're the same team that has signed and given considerable playing time to:

Vittorio Samarano at 39 and then again at 43.
                    Leonel Tesina at 37.
                    John Harbison at 35.
                    Tim Murcott at 35.

Most of those names finished their careers in Denver. It's a gift and a curse.

You should Mod your stadium to play like the ball would play in Denver. Make it a HR palace. Then bringing in old school crusher would make sense.

Speaking of big money deals. The highest paid player in the BLB right now is Finley Kinsey playing out the end of that mammoth contract. He's been solid. No DL titles, but Dallas is usually in the conversation.

                        I offered Woodbury.

I'm not sure he's looking for a minor league deal though.

He's a little young for your minors.

                            I've been thinking about modding.

My park is not left-handed friendly which I don't like. It seems to be built in the reverse of what modern ballparks should do, which is make the right field porch more accessible to lefties that pull and righties going the other way.

I don't think I want to make it into a band box, though.

I once ran a team that played in a Coors Field-like stadium in OOTP 4. It was not fun.

edit: Also, to mod would mean I'd actually have to finish in the black.
